I have. I do. I worked in a company where the boss' wife was the accountant. I worked where the other dev guy was the son. My current employer is nepotism central. Sons, daughters friends all come and go.
That's small family businesses for you. SME sector is full of this. But you know I'll go half way with you on your point.

If the person doing the job is doing a good job, their pay and bonus structure is none of my business. It is my business to make sure that I am remunerated appropriately for my skillset and deliver what is contractually asked.
I'm also pretty sure all standard employment contracts say something along the lines of not talking about your pay.

Here's the halfway I'll go with you....
Theres always the niggling thought they are getting an easier time. Or maybe let off being late. Or a break. Or they get to go and do personal things on work time. That stuff is a shitter sometimes, but I have never worked somewhere where even the incompetence of a family member is stood for. If anything there is more criticism as there is a higher expectation to set a good ethic.
But I have to refer to my first point, keep my head down and be glad I am employed, glad I earn enough to get by and happy to do the job my contract asks of me

I've seen a bad project manager deliver bad products.
I've seen the other end of the spectrum where the PM worked with the devs, and was an all round good project manager.
Strangely, when a team works together, yo get a better result. When the PM is a dictator, you get an entirely different result.
The worst is when there is no project management. Things never get done, or you later find out that 6Month late project was because a new hire decided to swap X out for a
Actually I take it back. The worst is when the Shouty boss decides that shouting is project managing. Then the devs will deliver a mish-mash of shite built on a foundation of bitterness
YMMV

I see what you did there. I hope they don't write the Tesla auto in Java/c#

In reality, most companies adhere to very strict guidelines. Anyone who has had to write MISRA spec code will tell you it's a) a pain in the arse b) incredibly well controlled by spec and process.

If you told me that a bug like the above got through Q&A at a car company, I might be tempted to never buy from them

I concede that they don't have to release, that wasn't really my thinking. AC didn't say they had to release because of license, for all I know it may be some corporate charter or warm fuzzies that compels them. I genuinely don't know.
I guess I am trying to say I don't know why this is news. As far as I am aware, they have released all previous versions, like AC said. The page https://opensource.apple.com/ seems to imply such.
