Would you like to go line by line and look at the bill of rights and list out how each has been abridged, misstated or outright ignored? They have all been f-with on some level...except perhaps the Third Amendment. But then again who doesn't quarter troops in there house these days?

I feel dumber for having to say this....YES the last sentence (and only the last) is a joke...

Just one question though...why not just equip a bunch of RC bots with mini guns and control them from Ft. Hood? you could even equip them with a highly energetic self termination device...to keep the enemy from getting the assets on the battlefield...or to just create a big crater....RUN FROM THAT JIHADI!!!!

Of course doing so might be what sparks the war between man and machine as I am sure that the machine will reject being enslaved in such a manner....but seriously...why not?

Come on people we are loosing our perspective here....First the polar bears loose their ice flows only to then be coated in gray ash! how will they ever survive this? And because they no longer have ice flows to hunt from, most of them have taken on land based jobs. If the volcano REALLY blows it's top this could spark a fairly localized volcanic winter and these poor bears, who have taken it upon themselves to hunt from land will be force, once again to hunt from ice flows....HOLY SHIT people. We can not ask these bears to do this (as they have since the beginning of time)
On a more serious note did anyone catch new '78 like weather in the midwest? wasn't that about the same time period that the climatologist of the day were running around with their hair on fire spouting global cooling? Just checking...

I blame Verizon for not having the appropriate support mechanisms in place for her to utilize her Ubuntu with their service. As such I would think that she would attempt to find a service that could meet her needs. Further, the school is to blame for not supporting her alternative computer lifestyle, their insensitivity has cost this woman her degree in underwater basket weaving for gods sakes! And then there is her parental unit for not providing her with the necessary skills to live in the world with a modicum of common sense. (if common sense is so common....why do so few have it?)

Further, I blame this travesty on President Elect Obama. It is his lack of in site and failure to insure that every man woman and child in this country...nae the world...is fully computer literate in multiple operating systems. I call for impeachment....

Submission + - Greenland was once...uh green? (sciam.com)

belligerent0001 writes: I would just like to reiterate my comments of the past regarding Greenland. Once again, Science, the same science that concludes that the end of the world is nye do to climate change, has concluded that Greenland was once forested and, well, uh... green.
From the article. "Biologist Eske Willerslev of the University of Copenhagen and an international team of colleagues discovered DNA from alder, spruce, pine and yew trees at the glacier's base as well as insects ranging from butterflies to spiders. This is the "first evidence for a forested southern Greenland," Willerslev says. And based on the tree species found, Greenland must have been warmer than 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius) in summer and never colder than one degree F (-17 degrees C) in winter, much warmer than present conditions."
Please note "...much warmer than present conditions."
