Comment My Add-ons (Score 4, Informative) 171

I use several add-ons in my daily Thunderbird usage:
  1. CompactHeader
  2. ConfigDate
  3. DKIM Verifier
  4. Enigmail
  5. Header Tools Lite
  6. LookOut
  7. Manually sort folders
  8. Nostalgy
  9. PrintingTools
  10. Remove Duplicate Messages (Alternate)
  11. Spamness

I wouldn't mind if some add-ons were integrated (Enigmail, Nostalgy) but don't mess too much with the cored T-Bird.

Comment Re:Health Care vs. Health Insurance (Score 1) 415

You are talking minor health issues (headache, stubbed toe, etc.) and I'm talking about things which should be in the Health Care category but have migrated into Health Insurance.

Health Insurance should be for catastrophic incidents in your life. Cancer. Birth defect. Stroke. etc.. Basically the things nobody has any control over.

Health Care should be cheap and easy. Eat right, exercise, wear a condom, skip being a competitor in the X-Games, and you will be fine.

Example: Having a baby? Get out your checkbook.

Example: Born with a heart defect? No worries.

Example: High cholesterol from a crap diet? Get out your checkbook.

Example: Brain tumor? Your covered.

Example: Life time smoker with lung cancer? Get out your checkbook.

It all boils down to personal responsibility and personal control. If you as an individual can control it then you should pay for it.

Comment Health Care vs. Health Insurance (Score 1) 415

To fix the health system it must be split into Health Care and Health Insurance.

People must be personally responsible (and pay) for their Health Care and can pay a small amount to be in the large Health Insurance pool.

Stupid Car Analogy: Do you make a claim for an oil change? What about wiper changes? Tires? Back into a tree and get a tiny dent? NO. Car Insurance is for those times when fate smacks you in the face and wrecks your car.

The same should be true in the Health Industry. You are responsible for the care and maintenance of your body. Until people take a direct role in their health and stop thinking things are "free" the system will continue to spiral into failure.

Instead of a Civics test how about we get people to actually SIGN the Constitution to prove their consent to be governed by it.

It is ridiculous that being born at a certain LAT/LONG makes you subject to something you never created or endorsed. Can you be born into a contract?

Imagine what the implications would be if the American people had to review/sign the Constitution when they turned 18.

As it stands right now a tiny portion of the American population is voting anonymously to decide the direction of the Country and that needs to change.

Just send one of our nuclear subs to provide a source of main power...or maybe a carrier. A carrier would be better of course but they may be too busy threatening countries thousands of miles away from the US.

A nuclear ship could even be a long term solution for PR. It could provide power for the island while they get solar/wind established and rebuild their infrastructure. If bad weather rolls in the ship unplugs and finds clear water until the storm has passed...;)

Hyperloop is a 'pipe' dream which will mostly serve the rich and only a very few with specific travel requirements. SkyTran would serve an entire City or Country with more then just personal public transportation. Run whatever cables/wires you want down the tracks and get fiber, gas, power and more. Every loading station could be a Wifi/Cellular node blanketing the area with open access. There is so much potential in a SkyTran system that it annoys me it doesn't get more exposure and I keep seeing an endless series of Hyperloop stories.

Bravo on Space-X. Bravo on Tesla. But, please stop spending money on autonomous cars. 'Johnny Cabs' are a wasteful mode of transportation and they don't solve the real problem of crumbling infrastructure (crap bridges/highways/roads) and over population (too many cars/buses/trucks and not enough space). Also, stop with hyper loop. A vacuum tube? really? Please put your resources and Engineering talents into helping http://www.skytran.com/ become a reality. Thanks.

I use their board service and their software and it works great for my little project boards. I can work something up over the weekend, get my order in on Monday, and by Friday I have my boards.

I haven't used them in a while but when I checked their link it looks like they updated the software so I will have to check that out.
