There is always a bike lane, even if it's not painted. It's a bubble around the bikers 3' past the handlebars. That is the room cars are legally required to give a biker on the road (at least according to MN rules). This just helps the car visualize where they are legally REQUIRED to avoid.
Bikers are allowed on the roads. They have just as much right to using a lane as a car, no matter how much it bugs you or you think it's wrong. I know cars hate following the rules of the road (speeding all the time, rolling through stop signs), but at least you can try to respect the ones that allow bikers their 3' bubble. Is that too much to ask?
