Comment AV Marketing? (Score 1) 196

The experiment was done by antivirus firm Sophos, which acquired three bags of USB sticks lost by commuters on trains in the Greater Sydney metro area at an auction organized by the Rail Corporation New South Wales.

Sounds like something drummed up by their marketing department?

People like me who, 2.5 years ago, said FU big cable companies and pulled the plug completely. There is plenty to see in full bandwidth HD over the airwaves (as opposed to compressed to hell and back before the cable company send it down my wire). All I miss is ESPN. TNT would be nice during the NBA playoffs. All in all I save $100/month (at least) and still see most NFL games I want.

ESPN should set up local OTA affiliates, I'd pay $10/month. Besides that I won't pay for any television.

Comment Judge and cops are the criminals here (Score 1) 327

The evil in this is the police know there is no merit at all to the charges. The judge knows this also. They have no intention of making fools of themselves by trying to prosecute this. This is a conspiracy of the worst kind... the kind that violates the public trust in them as people who uphold the law.

They are corrupt and want to actually find out who this guy is so they can do what cops do best, make life miserable for the person. The cops, judge, and any other bureaucrat involved should all be held responsible. Unfortunately there is no one policing the police so these kinds of things go unpunished.

To me this should be a felony and these slimy cops and judges should be made an example of.

no link to the actual tool?!? wtf

At the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas Wednesday, Kaminsky released a free software tool for detecting when an Internet service provider (ISP) is artificially slowing down or speeding up traffic to and from a website, a program the well-known security researcher is calling N00ter, or “neutral router.”

Then:

30 years ago... was before the heinous effects of Reaganomics had destroyed the middle class and people were more likely to spend the money on top dollar electronics. These days it all about making it cheaper, not better. I still have my Infinity Qb speakers from 1978.

I also still hate Reagan and the ridiculous "trickle down economics" theory that eventually brought this country to it's knees in the fall of 2008.
