Right, when the Lawmakers get inconvenienced or treated like the rest of us, they change the laws (or have the power/connections to get the process started) Now, let's make them give up their nice cozy pension plans and medical care plans, all taxpayer subsidized, which in many cases includes their Family members, for life. Make them use the same pool of resources the common man has, deductibles, co-pays, waiting periods. Let them see $$$ coming out their pockets, not just for the same cost of the monthly premiums we have to pay, but have them dive into their pockets when they get the prescriptions, like we do. I want to see their reaction after paying their premiums, and they now find out the have to meet their deductibles, otherwise it's *dig into your pockets again* to pay those. Both the pension plans and the medical plans are taxpayer paid, why can't we all get a sweet deal like that, it's our money?!?!? You say the Government can't run a good health care program, have a look at the Military. Not saying the men and women who serve our Country don't deserve it, I'm saying we do too, since we pay for it, ON TOP OF OUR OWN COVERAGES..... Yeah, make 'em eat their own dogfood!

I propose we cut ALL their taxpayer paid benefits, retirement and make them pay for it themselves Wanna see how quickly the rest of us get better benefits and retirement packages. These lazy bums won't/can't do their job in Washington, yet they expect US to pay the bill for their perks.

Yes, real life computer communications/hacking is boring, real Admins don't use GUI's, command line baby, all the way. Have you ever seen the GUI for firewall software? It could take you days to figure it out if you have legal access. Get in through command line, swap out the *rules files* restart fw instance and go where ever you want

No R2D2 could *speak* but had to use beeps and squeeks to do it. Now, why would a supposedly highly advanced machine such as this need to use auditory communications?

When hardware is too *old* to run windows effectively any longer, it becomes a LINUX server in my house. While 2gb of memory or less may tax Microsoft applications, a LINUX fileserver (samba) and Openoffice for the kids homework is just fine. Tighter kernel, less bloat. We just got our Son starting College a new laptop, it came with W7. At 1st glance I see no great advantage to this new OS, all the other Windows systems we use are running XP, it it does what we need. W7 may be much better than VISTA, but unless forced I will use what works and causes me the less maintenance (we don't get paid for maintaining home systems now do we :-) ) I am a UNIX Admin and would like to let that sleeping dog just lie.... I had hoped to be able to replace the 3 laptops I bought the Fam in 2007 by now, but given the economy, not possible. Unless it dies completely (overheated cpu/gpu due to insufficient cooling) or another child starts College, I will have to limp along with what I have, and re-purpose from Windows to LINUX to extend hardware usage. The only exception to this was my cell phone, now I actually have a Droid. Hard to imagine that hardware making technological improvements by leaps and bounds, for me the apps are what make it very useful for now.

Given their *standards* for security and the model that everything should be visable by everyone, this brakes the basic rules of security. I for one would never trust FB with my private info, let alone a SSO password.

I agree with Older Guy....I really don't want to be *forced* to socialize with many of my co-workers. I am a techie, and my free time is spent with my Family, they are the reason I work (well, that and boredom), and my friends. If I do socialize with any of my co-workers, it will be MY choice of who and when. Activities like bowling, golf, etc are good, but to just generally *have* to sit around an chat....no thanks. And don't even get me started on *team-building* crap......
