I think I would get some silk kimonos, a few guns, some solar panels and creature comforts, go back in time to an English forest around the time of Arthurian legend, set myself up with a little cottage and get away from it all, grow my beard out and occasionally randomly use my advanced tech to either help or hinder the locals al a the Ivanhoe gambit ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TimeWars ) I think mid-evil Europe needs more wizards.

quick question, what would happen if the satellite was launched from international waters by an unregistered water craft? this can be done by not registering a self made boat, and using one of the cheaper launch vehicles to get it into orbit. Don't get me wrong its a LOT more planning and more money, but does cause a loophole in the treaty. another option, launch it from a country that didn't sign the treaty.

Actually Jesus isn't really that different then a large number of contemporaries. People have been teaching "wouldn't it be nice if people were nice to each other" and promptly getting killed for it for quite some time before and after him. Also Hell is a christian concept, being pagan (Gardernarian priesthood) I was never in danger of going to hell for sins as my faith has no sins, just mortal consequences for our actions. As for the genocides that Christianity committed, if your god is real, and he really does care about all people, despite race creed or weather you believe or not then why did he not stop his own people? either he doesn't exist or doesn't object, the best outcome here is that he's just a dick that wanted to see people suffer. Actually the first people who used the scientific method were herbalists (read witches) or Alchemist's (read heretics) the first people to call themselves scientists might have been christian but they only could be that by following the trails blazed by pagans. Sorry mcgrew, but your religion is too young to take credit for single handily making everything cool in this world. I'm not saying mine did either. It took all of us. Personally I would want to meet the man Jesus (if I could find him, that I think would be the hard part, I can't pass for Roman or Israelite, I've got too much Norse in my blood and people at that time in history were not trusting of outsiders that didn't speak their language) and show him what would be done in his name, all of it, good and bad, then let him decide what he wants to do about it.

ah but in the end Ozymandias won and Doc Manhattan left to start again. In the history books, Doc will appear as the hero who left in humanities darkest hour, where Ozymandias however he will be the hero who helped rebuild new york and Shepparded in a new era for mankind. let me ask you this? Who was the hero again?

How about simply as a show of force? a kind of "We are here, we can do whatever we want and we want to remind you of this so (do the following, keep your end of the deal, ect)" I know it implies that these critters think like us, but without another frame of reference what else can we go on? I also think that we are not dealing with one group of aliens, if we take encounters with creditable witnesses seriously. If you look at all the events out there together its too disjointed. It stands to reason that they don't have one singular government or agenda, I mean we don't. Look, all I really want to say is weather its true or not doesn't really matter, the fact is it should be investigated LIKE it's at least possible and we be given the real truth of the situation. I think I would actually sleep better knowing the real truth rather then knowing a "truth" this being handled without any oversight at all.

Well, if there is a serious honest and open investigation, then hopefully some definitive answers. Personally I don't think it matters wither he is being abducted, or we find the part of the brain that makes him believe this and correct it. So long as at the end, this man and the several thousand other people who claim this has happened to them get some answers and peace.
