Essentially a digital etsy, with all the safety features of craigslist? Thanks but no thanks, I'd rather stick to craigslist..fewer wackos on there than facebook these days.

I don't know where all these app developers get the idea that they'll no longer starve when they stop paying the apple tax or sell their crap on 3rd party stores. Outside a few big studios you're more likely going to hurt your own sales in the long run.
Then again I feel most apps aren't worth paying for, and it seems outside of games most of the public feels the same way.
Except in this case they admitted they tried to implement their own video player and fucked up and are reverting back to apples API to fix the damage.
I hope you also enjoy paying subscription fees for every piece of software then. Thanks but no thanks.
Seriously? It was blindingly obvious to google as well..that's why they pushed it. The more ad's that get shoved down everyone's throat the more money they make. Don't forget they're in the advertising business.
I don't see why a high margin has to mean they are doing it to restrict competition, or a low margin means it's for security. The two are not mutually exclusive.
The general reputation of the App store vs the Google's Play store should be indication enough that the "walled garden" is for security, while also generating high margins.
That's not even remotely true. Epic can do what Netflix did, offer the app on the app store and charge the user outside the app/store for access and thus avoid Apple taking a cut.
What they can't do is offer in app purchases without Apple getting a cut.
I'd compare the app store to something more like Sam's club or Costco than a walmart. Producers give big discounts to Costco/Sams due to the exclusive nature of the stores..basically they pay for access to their customers by selling to them cheaper.
Apple's 30% cut is the same cost for access to Apple's customers. Or are we going to argue Costco/Sam's are a monopoly now too?
You can make your game free on the app store, setup a webstore and sell in game items through a safari storefront and link the purchase to your ingame account. You just can't make the purchase in app without apple taking a cut which seems reasonable to me.
And if the safety systems were bypassed, why lie about it and say autopilot was not engaged? Something was in control of the vehicle and it clearly wasn't the two dead people still buckled into their passenger seats.
This is a bit of chicken or the egg problem. Would Tesla fires make the news as often as they do if Musk didn't respond every time it happened?
Is this counting all cars involved in fires...like from wildfires or other natural disasters?
Screw you Tesla! Stop discriminating against those of us who wear gloves. I don't want to take my glove off just to shift to reverse or drive.
Our current infrastructure isn't even optimized for human drivers in most places really. Pedestrians would be crossing over/under streets not on them if they were optimized for driving.
Beta these days means, public release with no liability claims. This is Star Citizen level quality here. This should not be available to the general public.
PURGE COMPLETE.
