No you are not at all happy to pay for your content. You are happy to pay what *you want* for your content, regardless of whether or not it is profitable for the producers.

More screen time also means diminished time for activities. If kids are watching TV, they will spend less time interacting with others, less time drawing, dancing, whatever. Any toddler given a choice between screen and doing activities will almost 100% choose the former.. Nothing OP said is judgy. Very few parents give their kids screen time as part of "good parenting". Almost anything that toddlers can understand through screens can be conveyed to them through interaction (with the exception of learning how to use the device itself). The choice to do it via screens in this case would be laziness. The argument that parents are more relaxed because the TV is watching their kids, thus making them better parents is just dumb. Large part of parenting is interacting with your kids; humans evolved to be social, not to be glued to screens. If you are going to let your kids watch TV, atleast be honest that it is out of laziness, or out of necessity (to find time to do housework). Don't make up non-sense about how it allows you to be better parents through relaxation. My 3-yr old watches TV, usually limited to 20-30min a day max, and it is so that she will eat sit and eat her food as nothing else we have tried works. I am not going to pretend that it is because I am a good parent. We are tired in the evenings and sometimes just want to eat in peace while she does the same instead of having to remind her to eat every 30 seconds. At all other times when she wants to watch TV, we redirect her attention and instead play games with her, or help her learn to draw, build things with legos, etc. As for people who are arguing that screen time has made their kids smarter; good for them. They are the exception, not the norm: https://jamanetwork.com/journa... https://jamanetwork.com/journa... The only studies that show 'no effect' are on older kids (as opposed to toddlers, which is what the above looked at). I am happy to be proven wrong if someone has studies that show otherwise.

It is not so cut and dry. Suing a manufacturer for security vulnerabilities means that you can sue other industries e.g. lock manufacturers for break-ins, car manufacturers for car theft, etc. which is unrealistic.

That said, I am all for legislation that forces manufacturers to fix any known security vulnerabilities.

I don't know why people keep repeating this bullshit. Wait times depend on severity, which makes sense, otherwise more people would die. Have you been to an emerg in a Canadian hospital? Idiots come there for minor cuts and scrapes and then whine about the 4 hour wait time. When my dad had a bypass, he saw his doc one week, the cardiologist the same week, and had the surgery within 2 weeks (and that was by choice, they we willing to operate on him within days). Conversely, when we went to have non-urgent knee surgery, it took 3 months which was fine by him. One saved his life, the other made it more comfortable, all for $0.

You seem like one of those people who would say "Look at country XYZ wasting money investing in space travel/launches while half their people are starving". Just because someone cares about ethics doesn't mean that they should spend every last dollar on charity. It sucks that the world is divided economically as it is today, but people in better off parts shouldn't have to feel guilty about spending a little on themselves; cerainly not for the small amount (in developed countries) that Netflix costs.

Yes, the reported MILLINEWTON thrust was surely the missing link to warp drive.

The discovery, if real, would have not gotten us warp speed. The parent posted said "relativistic" speed, which means close to c, but not higher than c. If this discovery were true, then that implication absolutely holds as we would then have a mechanism where we could gain speed without need for a propellant.
