My MB has M.2 slots underneath a plate that is used as a heatsink. If these new M.2's require the heat sink that comes with it, how would they be mounted? Or can I just remove the their heat sink and install as normal?

I bought one of these in the past but it never quite felt like a total replacement. They needed one or more 'wildcard' buttons you could assign a function so they could control a device completely.

Linux on desktop peaked at about 3% has remained there for about 10 years now. For Microsoft, Windows is not the cash cow it used to be but still generates a LOT of revenue and a crap ton of their offerings depend on it. There's no chance Microsoft changes course on this. Linux remains as solid choice for server and mobile but on desktop, it's over.

As a shareholder: No. There's no money in it. Microsoft has to monetize absolutely all it can or it will fuel their demise.
