UK smart meters are replacing millions of already installed electric and gas meters. The gas meters will have no connection to the grid except to draw power locally, and I don't know how the electrical grid works to know if it can just have data sent over it without replacing cables in the strret etc.

I've not changed settings or gone through a similar process in about 7 years and it still works just fine. Same with my parents.
I too find that once you get the settings for your parents right it's best not to mess with them later. With luck the folks will go on for years without needing an upgrade!

The WHO may be wrong or right, but if their data is public then they are doing science, because they can be argued with. The FDA on the other hand seem to be saying that they know better due to 'private' i.e. secret data. It's possible the FDA is correct, but it's still not science.

Apparently, new child sexual abuse images are expensive to produce. Most trading in such images is done with existing material, which is in the database.

Perhaps for now, recent examples of machine learning 'art' suggest this may not hold for long. In which case you might not want to publish any picture at all of your kids, anywhere.
