"OK, first off, mountain is a little harsh and I don't know what a yucca is. Second, there I am, all alone out in the desert, not bothering anybody and you want to put nuclear waste where? Who gave you the idea my ass is a safe spot for anything."

I'm sure there is room around Area 51 or Groom Lake that could handle a couple of football fields of waste and the government doesn't have to care what you think. There's more than enough sand in the Mojave to bury all of the nuclear waste and your head.

Comment CO2 per GDP (Score 1) 445

This number has been coming down quite a bit globally. The USA is already at .2 while the global average is closer to .3 kg per PPP $ of GDP. The most inefficient countries are not surprisingly also the biggest polluters currently.

But using CO2 per GDP isn't good for the whole narrative. You let China, Russia, Iran, etc continue to emit at .5 levels cause you don't hate them half as much as you do the West or just the USA.

Speaking of economies, Carter's was downright pitiful, Clinton gave us the dot com bubble and the housing collapse (twofer) and Biden is making Carter look like an economic genius.

Biden's efforts to buy the next 2 elections is probably going to be his downfall. All that spending is not helping normal Americans, it's just driving even more inflation.

A vast majority of people are opposed to 3rd trimester abortions. The problem is that the loony left want abortion up to (and in some cases after) 9 months.
A vast majority of people are opposed to the government paying for abortions. Again, the loony left want them free and on demand (which only the Govt could reasonably provide).

So, no, you're assumptions are just plain wrong.

There are still tidal projects going on. Nuclear power supporters don't get bent out of shape about them, can't figure out why the reverse is never true.

The current plan sounds promising to me. Build small nukes in a factory and avoid the costs overruns that come with construction and NIMBY lawsuits.

US presented it's side to the UN. Had many allies, including neighbors of Saddam. Nothing sneaky like what Putin is doing now in Ukraine, or any of the other special ops he's started.

The 1st Gulf War was a reaction to Kuwait being invaded.
The 2nd Gulf War was a reaction to the cease fire agreement being violated. All the WMD stuff was just 1 of the arguments (but the easiest to refute after the fact).

Neither time did the US go it alone. Neither time did the world react like it has now.
