We've got MANY technologies due to space programs. They are all extremely useful.

- Solar cells (you know, create electricity from the sun, as opposed to burning something).
- Water filters (kind of useful when you want fresh water).
- Air purifiers (to get those nasty airborne chemicals out of the air).
- Insulation (for clothing, buildings, etc.)
- Improvements to windmills (you know, the electricity generating ones).

There's many more technologies which allow us to be more efficient in one way or the other, help clean up environmental damage, and new energy technologies due to the various space programs. I know, space programs are expensive, but they're extremely useful and provide constant new insights in our universe, our planet, ourselves, and the environment we live in.

They wouldn't be spending all that money if it were entirely useless, would they?

Be mindful that both Ubuntu and Red Hat contribute a LOT to various open source projects.

Both have significant contributions in systemd (some hate it, others love it) and the Linux kernel. However, their contributions don't stop there. I wouldn't be amazed if, for example, both have put developers on GNOME (to name but something).

Wait... people expect a service for free, then go moaning and complaining part of that service is put behind a "paywall"?!

YOU DID NOT PAY FOR IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

They must get their money from somewhere. In the case of Spotify, it's injecting ads between songs and withholding services they consider premium. Guess what, THEY'RE TOTALLY IN THEIR RIGHT TO DO SO. They must get their income from somewhere, you know. They probably sell what you've listened to in the past eternity to the highest bidder as well. Guess what, you're making use of a free service... deal with it.

I pay for spotify. I like it mostly. Yes, there's most certainly things which can be improved. Does that automatically mean it sucks?

Even more people will start exploring getting a Mac or (when they can't afford it) Linux. Microsoft has got a lot of hubris to deal with, and this isn't going to help them.

There are some people with a memory, and Microsoft has given those people one more reason to wonder. Let alone mom and dad calling their family helpdesk in a panic "there's a virus on my computer!" I wonder what time it's going to take until all those family helpdesks have had it and are just going to install Linux and tell them it's a different version of Windows. "Look dad, this is what the upgraded Office looks like." "Yes, mom, Paint was renamed recently and got a lot of new features." "Yesyes, Edge is exactly the same as Chrome."

The reason why more and more people in so-called "Western" countries start to hate Islam, is because Islam is showing it's true colors more and more. Gay people get harassed, Jews get harassed, Christians get harassed. Guess by who? Yup, Muslims. Which religion is overly represented in the prisons in Western Europe? Yup, Islam.

Islam is a religion which breeds terrorists, simply because of how it's put together. About 60% of all Muslims in Europe want to see Sharia law implemented. There's a huge bunch of Muslims which HATE our Western values and are willing to go to great lengths in order to get what they want. Hence terrorists.

The 9/11 terrorist attack happened. Where was the Islamic outcry? I'll tell you: there was none. I'll tell you worse: Muslims all around the world were CELEBRATING.
The Bataclan terrorist attack happened. Where was the Islamic outcry? I'll tell you: there was none.
Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack happened. Where was the Islamic outcry? I'll tell you: none happened. Instead, Muslims took this as an excuse to start a discussion about how freedom of speech in relation to the CHILD RAPIST they see as a great ideal to strife for should be absolutely banned.

Now, lets look at what the Israeli's did: they defended themselves for about 70 years against a near never ending stream of terrorist attacks... against civilians, never on military targets. It got to a climax on 7 October last year where over a 1000 people were murdered, raped, and tortured in the most gruesome ways. INNOCENT PEOPLE. Again, where was the Islamic outcry? Now, Israel responds without showing any kind of mercy whatsoever, and all of a sudden they are the problem? I CALL BULLSHIT.

Israel is completely justified in what it is doing. I consider EVERY Muslim complicit in all terrorist attacks done in name of Islam in one way or the other, as they never spoke up. If they had, we would not have the current situation in the middle East in the first place.

Besides: if you consider a megolomaniac, lying, manipulating, gangster-like, child-raping person something of an ideal to follow, I will never hold you in high regard.

Sane people do not accept such behavior from their operating system. They will take note and a lot of them will start looking for alternatives to Windows.

Acceptable would have been a simple notification ONCE. Not an email, not an ad, a simple notification. Perhaps a notification that you need to specifically close for it to go away (because of the amount of information), but it should not pester you.

This will drive more people away from Windows. I wouldn't be amazed if the amount of desktop Linux users increases because of these antics.
