I use Slashdot for a very long time and still some questions on main page kills me.
What was the reason you purchased Smart TV in the first place?
Did you buy it to be "cool" or what?
Or you just wanted standard TV but you have seen this one is "smart" so it must be better?
I use Samsung Smart TV and I bought it mainly for two reasons:
- Netflix
- Youtube
I understand you don't use these services. Because they don't work without internet access. Because they are internet services.
So what do you do on your "smart" TV? Watch "smart" programs or what?

I remember Digg and Obama campaign. It was brainwashing stronger than in Orwell's 1984. Now we see same with Hilary Clinton. Some things never changes.

I remember first Obama campaign and pathetic political propaganda on Digg. Not just bad, it was really pathetic.

In Poland playing poker tournament without valid license is illegal. Online poker is also illegal. I am not joking. People here are so brainwashed by Civic Platform that they still consider this party "liberal".

When most people hear "Pascal" what they really have in their minds is "Turbo Pascal" by Borland. So they compare very old Borland IDE with Visual Studio or Eclipse.

Google made mistake by forcing usage of Google+, nobody wants to be forced - and nobody wants to make all things public. It can be a lesson to others.

Discovery is crap for years. I remember it was OK long long ago.

I used flickr years ago, then I switched to 500px. Yesterday I wanted to check out how flickr looks now, I did basic test - display best photos. On 500px you can just click "popular" and you can browse amazing photography. How to do it on flickr? After few minutes I resigned, because all I saw was just crap.

So I assume you wrote similar comments to all news about 9/11 or any american politics, which is not related to technology at all? Or do you mean that Ukraine is not important while USA is?

Why bull**** about "global warming" is important "news for nerds" and information about kernel developer / russian invasion on Ukraine is not important?
I think Slashdot was much more intesting 10 years ago than it is now, but your comment shows that this direction is not accidental.
