Journal Journal: handkerchiefs

Men in Romance novels all have handkerchiefs ready and available for when the heroine cry, no one that I know carries snot rags. Guess that is why, romance of the book kind never happens in my world.

John Ashcroft and his ....... there is just no words to describe how much he scares me, when I read some of his dribble or hear him speak I often shake with anger. The shit Ashcroft pulls leads me to believe the American way of life would probably be safer under Russia's president Putin than Bush; until I read this Family and secret police torment tough-guy Putin Canada looks better every day.

Journal Journal: I got an iPod and she got stuck with the Bug.

Life is not so bad I gave the wife down payment money for a new car she opted for a VW Beetle that comes with an iPod. So I now have a $5000 iPod on my desk. But the wife is happy with her new car; when she's happy my life is good. And I really like my iPod.

Journal Journal: Kick'n back

Just kick'n back for the holiday. I bought a new camera on the way to Wanda's for the fourth. Got it at Circuit City (used the online order pick up at the store deal). It's a Canon S400; I had decided on getting the lower priced S230 but they were out of it; so I spent the extra 150; got the better lens, higher data CCD chip, and who knows what all. It worked out well that I was unwilling to wait another day to buy; it will be a long time if ever before I need a new or better camera.

Took pictures of fireworks in the sky. I have tried to do that many time in the past I have high dollar film cameras and have never had the luck and results that I had this fourth of july.

Journal Journal: Stepping forward

I went to a Howard Dean for president meet-up last night it was the first time in a very long time that I felt like I was doing something positive.

I am going to support Howard Dean because:

  • Howard Dean opposed the Bush administration on the Iraq war.
  • He chided the president for labeling the University of Michigan's affirmative action program a "quota" system.
  • Even though Vermonters (his state) were sharply divided over a bill granting civil union status to homosexuals, Gov. Dean signed it into law.
  • He also expanded Vermont's Medicaid program so that every child in the state now has medical insurance.
  • Despite being branded ultra-liberal, he balanced the state budget.
  • And he earned a good rating from the National Rifle Association, even though he supports some forms of gun control.

I wrote 3 letters to Iowan's by hand no less I have not spent so much time holding an ink since ..... Hell I can not remember Writing more than a line on a form in years.

I am still pissed but ..........
If I am am going to use this journal for anything more than an occasional rant, then I must add to it daily, not just when I am about to blow a gasket.

It has been a long time since I have piped music through head phones, it is so different than speakers, the envelop that head phones provide is just such a step above what I have available from speakers. I use'ta do the head phones all the time Jimmy Hendix, Pink Floyd, or the Beatles, My life was so much simpler then. I love the way iTunes works there is a iPod in my future.

Journal Journal: More War?

The world is a scary place. Terrorist strike where they can. Last week they hit civilians in Saudi Arabia and in Morocco. What prompts me to make note of this; as if it is not covered by news outlets around the world.

Vice President Dick Cheney's good friends and business partners Prince Nayef and the Saudi Kingdom (a theocrat monarchy and police state) as of this morning 5/18/03 the Saudi Army has detained 4 while; Morocco (a democratic, pluralistic and harmonious multireligious society) has arrested 41.

It makes me wonder who is on our side.

Journal Journal: cog in the machine

The time has long past the time where I can sit on the side lines and watch the world go by. It is time for me to step up and take a turn, not a turn howling out the window, but a turn as a cog in the machine. Perhaps I can help affect change from the inside.

If I can get off my ass, and into gear.

Journal Journal: I feel betrayed.

The current outcome of Bush's war on; or invasion of; Iraq looks to be good. Future scholars will look back and give his and our actions it's proper label. We can only pray that it is a good one. We must also ask, how our actions, or lack of action played out.

It at this point appears that they lied about what weapons Saddam Hussein had on hand. Our President lied and sent our children, friends and neighbors into harms way for what reason?

I feel betrayed.

Journal Journal: Bush Doctrine

In shock! I am in shock! It is hard to believe that we have let the idiot Bush team lead us down this road.

This was pointed out by Dave at www.scripting.com
"Presidential candidate Howard Dean gave a talk at Harvard last night (27 march 2003). He asked an interesting question. Next year, how will we feel when China invades Taiwan because they think they have weapons of mass destruction? Has the new Bush Doctrine, pre-emptive wars, unleashed a philosophy of world power that we may not be so comfortable with?"

Surprise walked through our door Friday afternoon. My son walked in all smiles the Navy gave him a few days off, so he dropped by for the weekend, it's a 18 hour drive. I suspect his girl friend was more of a draw than Dad.... The Friday night town hall meeting was no longer worth my time.

Congressman Istook will have to wait for my visit.
