Submission + - IU mathematician offers unified theory of dark matter (iu.edu)

jacob1984 writes: A pair of mathematicians — one from Indiana University and the other from Sichuan University in China — have proposed a unified theory of dark matter and dark energy that alters Einstein's equations describing the fundamentals of gravity.

"In a nutshell, we believe that new gravity theory will change our view on energy, gravitational interactions, and the structure and formation of our universe," Wang said.

The full research paper, "Gravitational Field Equations and Theory of Dark Energy and Dark Matter," is available at the open access online preprint archive arXiv, and the work was supported by funding from the U.S. Office of Naval Research and the National Science Foundation.

The statement was ignorant because the NSDAP was not an atheist organization in any sense of the word. Their first treaty was with the Vatican. The SS had "God with us" imprinted on their belts and daggers In Mien Kampf, Hitler went on some length about being chosen by God, etc. There's much more. Do some studying.

A four-episode Blu-Ray sampler disc is to be released later this year; the episodes featured will be the two-part pilot "Encounter at Farpoint", "Sins of the Father", and fan favourite "The Inner Light". On 2 September, LeVar Burton tweeted that he had stopped by CBS Paramount Television City to check the progress and was "mindblown" by the conversion. We thought we had seen it all but students from ETH Zurich have teamed up with Disney Research to create the first climbing and flying robot system.

This is yet another perch and stare method

The robot uses a an impeller to create a vortex that lets it stick to the wall as it climbs.

“It’s like a mini tornado within the robot,” says ETH student Lukas Geissmann, who presented Paraswift yesterday at the Conference on Climbing and Walking Robots and the Support Technologies for Mobile Machines in Paris, France, in collaboration with Paul Beardsley of Disney Research. The centre of this vortex is low pressure, just like the centre of a tornado, and the pressure gradient glues the robot to the wall.

A parachute then brings the robot safely back to earth!

The project started in 1993 and shot to fame six years later, largely as a result of three Slashdot articles (two of which brought the Counter to its knees). After four years of stagnation, project founder Harald Tveit Alvestrand has handed over the reins to a new maintainer, Alexander Mieland. Over the past few months, Mieland has completely redeveloped the project, with a modernized design and support facilities (including a bug tracker, mailing list, RSS feed, and Twitter account). The New Linux Counter is now up and running, with all the data for active users from the old counter. The old site will continue to operate for a time but will soon be shut down and requests redirected to the new site."

What you need: scissors, a utility knife, some adhesive putty and an empty beer can. The brand doesn't matter for the router, but I suppose it would be cooler looking if it were Asahi or Stella Artois than if it were Budweiser.
