Submission + - AMD Releases it's Rome Second Generation EPYC CPUs (anandtech.com)

SolarAxix writes: Today, AMD released it's Rome Second Generation EPYC CPUs, the AMD EPYC 7001 & 7002 series. Was the hype real? According to Anandtech's review of the top of the line EPYC 7742 with 64 cores and 128 threads dual CPU system (for a total of 128 cores and 256 threads), it seems to be the case:

"...So has AMD done the unthinkable? Beaten Intel by such a large margin that there is no contest? For now, based on our preliminary testing, that is the case. The launch of AMD's second generation EPYC processors is nothing short of historic, beating the competition by a large margin in almost every metric: performance, performance per watt and performance per dollar.
