Free Software providers align goals
Infoworld has a
report
about
Tuesday's O'reilly Free software conference.
The idea is to come up with some sort of coherent plan to
address common issues such as fear of free software, commercial
support, and how to develop software within the open source model. Not
much appears to have been decided, but it's good to see a recognition
of the need for concerted action if free software is to become
more mainstream.
It would be nice if they stopped calling it freeware, don't you think?
