The Economist has another
example
of bumbling German bureaucrats pushing Germany back into the Dark Ages. Given
the number of Europeans in US high-tech industries, it's pretty clear that Europe
lacks opportunity and not talent. Indeed, in the US, it seems that large companies
buy
much of their innovation, rather than developing it themselves. This means a
favourable environment for start-ups is essential to hot technology. This is what
Europe lacks.
