The shift to OpenJFX as our development platform stems from the recent changes in Oracle's Java licensing model. Although Chromis POS is still in the early stages of its evolution, it has its roots in an open-source POS system called Unicenta, which was originally a fork of Openbravo. I discovered Unicenta while seeking a Point Of Sale (POS) solution for a friend's tropical fish shop, marking the beginning of this journey.
