    Simple to use platform, highly recommend!

    Summary: Overall I highly recommend Zenefits for any business large or small, they are great! The resources provided on a variety of topics are super helpful to our small business.

    Positive: Zenefits has been extremely helpful for our small Business. We recently switched to Zenefits from another provider and are super impressed with the platform. As a small business, we certainly benefit from having Zenefits as a platform that can do it all. Not only are we able to get everything done in the same place, but it's extremely simple and quick. Zenefits also has great online resources that help answer all my questions, which make it so that I rarely have to call their customer service. When I do call though, the representatives are super pleasant and quick to respond to any questions, which is great.

    Negative: While we're pretty new to Zenefits, we have not discovered anything we dislike about the software. Everything from the customer service to the platform itself has exceeded our expectations!

    Zenefits is a great HRIS software

    Summary: Great! We depend on Zenefits daily to track time and attendance, vacation, compliance info, employee onboardings, and more! Their team has always been quick to help if I have any setbacks and they roll out updates to improve the user experience frequently.

    Positive: The quick and helpful customer service is a standout with Zenefits. They are readily available and can be reached by chat or phone which is very helpful.

    Negative: Sometimes the updates have a few bugs when they first roll out but eventually they get fixed.

    Simplified HR

    Summary: Zenefits was easy to use and the price was great for the startup I was at. Kept things organized and the employees paid on time. Definitely worth considering.

    Positive: I used Zenefits at my last company which was a tiny startup. Our HR was a mess prior to signing up as we did not have a SaaS solution yet. We went with Zenefits and it made life as an employee a lot easier. I got paid on time, could request our vacation easily and had quick access to all essential paperwork. I was perfectly happy with Zenefits and thought it was a great solution.

    Negative: I would occasionally run into a few bugs but nothing major. After I left the company I had a bit of trouble logging in to access some files but I was able to after some troubleshooting. This was around 1 year ago so they have likely updated since then.

    Handles Most Small Business HR, but Pricy

    Summary: Overall, I'd say that this product works well for most HR needs for a small business. I do wish they still had dedicated reps for our business though.

    Positive: This product handles most HR needs. This is great for our company since we are lean and adding an entire role just for HR is a tough call.

    Negative: The product is expensive and the customer service is very hit or miss.

    Summary: The platform itself is great, but the amount they are charging for it is questionable if you are getting enough return value because it is not that frequent that an employee will go in and make changes to taxes, direct deposit info, etc. Ultimately, for our organization we have developed our own internal HR management software after they decided to start charging monthly for their platform, but Zenefits may be a good choice if you don't have the ability/resources to do that.

    Positive: This software allows you to easily organize employee onboarding and allows employees to self manage any changes that need to be made from an HR prospective such as taxes, direct deposit info, etc and it links in directly with QuickBooks so it can communicate all of this information easily without intervention.

    Negative: Zenefits used to offer a free version of their software and if you wanted then you could use their employee health insurance options and background check options which of course they made money off of until one day that they decided that they were going to phase out the free program and hold businesses HR information hostage, they were wanting to charge $6 per employee account for something we had been getting for free which would have amounted to costing our company nearly $400 per month.

    Zenefits does not know what Customer Service means

    Summary: Not worth the risk. You will need customer service at some point and will be regretting your decision. The system in general will do the minimum but the features are too basic, and the reporting is horrible. The integration with QuickBooks unusable for real mapping and labor/project expense tracking. Not a good format for data manipulation.

    Positive: UX Interface and web page design, relatively low price, no issues with pages crashing or server system errors or outages.

    Negative: Customer Service? [Crickets]

    I was very happy with Zenefits... until I needed something. If you're a small company looking to implement your new HR system, and your budget is tight so you can't afford a larger platform, Zenefits is NOT FOR YOU, I suggest you wait until you can pay for a more reliable partner.

    Everything will be fine until inevitably, an issue arises and you need customer support. Then, you'll pay the price for being a small business. We small businesses have small teams wearing many hats, and therefore we need great partners. Partners that are going to take us by the hand and respond promptly with solutions. Do not expect a fast response from customer service. Do not expect your response to be good once you receive it weeks or months later. All the contrary, they've just made it harder for you to contact customer service in the first place.

    I still have tickets open from last January or February and I've got 2 "responses", both saying that my tickets were assigned to a specialist and that they'll be contacting me. Never happened. Too bad I had just renewed for another year.

    Again, if you need help, look elsewhere.
