An internet speed test measures your internet connection speed and quality. It does this by running several consecutive tests that examine different aspects of your internet connection. These include ping (latency), upload speed, and download speed. Each value represents the connection's unique qualities, which you can find out more about in the paragraph following the next. These values should help you understand the final speed tests results. Before we get to these, let's first discuss how each test is performed. Download measurement is done by opening multiple connections to a server, and simultaneously starting the downloading of large data files on all connections. This ensures that all internet connections are available and the maximum data throughput can easily be measured. The internet speed available for downloading data can be determined by comparing the data throughput and the measurement time.
