Summary: The Skype calls for me are fine quality-wise but due to my connectivity it sometimes suffers from latency between the audio and the video.
Positive: - Calls can be recorded and are easily accessible.
- Push to talk feature takes away the trouble of repeatedly muting and unmuting yourself during an interactive session.
- Chat feature is also very useful.Negative: - I am personally not a fan of the Skype credit, as it includes a connection fee.

Make your presence remotely! Date: May 27 2020
Summary: During whole lock down, I used Skye more than ever. It helped me in connecting socially and also it allowed me to do some official web conference without any trouble. I will continue to use it even after lock down.
Positive: I like its clear audio/video quality so much. It's screen sharing is excellent too. It has an clear edge over other alike available tools. Also, it is secured enough.
Negative: I have been using Skype for a long time and apart from little bugs, I did not find anything to dislike. Its bugs are screen sharing limitation and inability to work during slow network connection.

Summary: During lock down period, I use its services for making video call to my family members and also done official work while working from home. It provides me full freedom and satisfaction and I like it so much.
Positive: I love its crystal clear sound and video quality. It brings joy in chatting or working officially. It is very useful for all means. Very useful tool for all who can't move.
Negative: Sometimes during slow network, it pauses for a while and this is very annoying. Otherwise nothing to complain about.

Summary: Skype is an easy to use IM with an emphasis on simplicity over features but faces tough competition in market from feature rich alternatives like Teams.
Positive: User friendly.
Make calls to phone number from app.
Integration with Outlook mailing list.
Good mobile app.
Document sharing feature.Negative: Not suited for meetings or conference.

Summary: Skype has been the most famous communication software overall in the corporate world despite being a heavy application. I wonder how it is going to face the onslaught of platforms like Zoom and Slack.
Positive: - The platform is quite universal across platforms and integrates quite well with Microsoft services like Outlook.
- It has all the features one can ask for.Negative: - It feels quite heavy and laggy. Also the whole process of creating an ID and sharing it with others is not so seamless. Basically too much effort to set up.

Summary: I've been using Skype for quite some time now. I've seen Skype improving their product and customer support gradually with time. Although, there are several competitors of Skype in the market but it still has its own value and its own place in the market.
Positive: Skype is a reliable product when it comes to communicating with others through video calls or voice calls or through instant messages.
Negative: They should reduce the price of paid version of skype.

Summary: Our company has shifted to Microsoft Teams which is basically the same but built for an enterprise environment. Is instrumental in the ever changing remote society we live in now.
Positive: Easy setup and free to use for personal use. Can send an invite to anyone with an email address and be up and running in a video call in minutes.
Negative: I have had compatibility issues in the past and had to try multiple email addresses when trying to do a phone interview.

Summary: We don't pay anything for Skype, which is the one thing it has as a benefit over other platforms, but the technology and ease of use has not kept up with the other plaforms.
Positive: Skype is easy enough to use, and it does the job, but the reality is with all the other products out there, Skype is not keeping up with the technology.
Negative: The platform is not as user friendly as other video conferencing tools and technology.

Summary: I did my first video call with Skype and was the only app which came preinstalled in my Playstation Portable when I was a kid. It brings back those days whenever my family members call me through Skype.
Apart from the nostalgic value, it struggles to maintain its persona amidst an ocean of competitors in the same category.Positive: (+) Chat experience is great.
(+) Screen sharing works well.
(+) Video and sound quality are okay.
(+) Conference calls are good.Negative: (-) Performance issues especially when using screen sharing feature.

Summary: Skype used to be the industry standard for video conferencing, however there are so many more technically better applications such as Zoom and more convenient options such as FaceTime if you are an Apple user.
Positive: It is good for video conferencing with one person. It was the industry standard at one point so you may have a large address book already compiled.
Negative: Skype is good for if you want to speak with one person, however if you want to have a group meeting there are much better alternatives.

Summary: I wouldn't use the other than in time video chat. But there's a lot more programs out there like Google Hangouts that works better.
Positive: Skype is a bit outdated and I think they don't have much to offer then the others do that are how leading experts

Summary: If Microsoft hadn't had the business relations it has built over the years it's probably neither Skype nor Teams would be used today, at least not as much as Zoom.
This has happened before with other products acquired by Microsoft.Positive: Easy to get, easy to download, easy to use once you learn how to.
You can use it pretty much everywhere.Negative: It did not evolve, it requires way too many permissions for the capabilities it offers. Microsoft decided to give priority to Teams and just kinda forgot about Skype.
