Shotwell Description
Shotwell supports JPEG and PNG as well as TIFF, BMPs, GIFs, WebP, GIF, WebP, and RAW photo files. Shotwell currently only supports RAW formats. A RAW photo is a JPEG that has been created from the RAW photograph. The RAW editing pipeline does not support 16-bit images. You can only export edited photos as eight-bit files. Export can be done in most supported formats (JPEG. PNG. TIFF. BMP). The Basic Information pane is located at the bottom of your sidebar and provides a summary of the photos that you have selected. If there are no photos selected, it displays a summary for the entire collection. This pane can be toggled using the information command. The map pane is located at the bottom sidebar and is part of the basic Information panel. It displays an overview map of the photos you have selected. It displays the entire collection if no photos have been selected.

The full image can be edited quickly using the edit functions. Edit metadata of images (tags, geotags and ratings, captions, dates, ratings and captions). Search images with any combination of metadata, file and folder names, or partial names. To view all photos taken at that location, click on a marker on a scalable map.
