Floor staff can focus on customer service and increasing average basket sizes by automating tedious stock monitoring tasks. Consumers are more likely to buy if there are less stock gaps. Shelfie cameras can mount on top of any standard retail shelf. The cameras capture images of retail shelves and then transfer these images to the cloud. The shelf images are analysed using cloud-based advanced machine intelligence and image processing algorithms. Once an event has been detected, the data is sent to the dashboard as well as the mobile app. Mobile devices are automatically updated with detected events, informing floor staff of the need to restock certain items.
