Deserves to be a Top Contender Date: Aug 12 2021
Summary: I love Procreate - it absolutely deserves to be a top contender in the graphic design field. It's the perfect marriage of traditional art done on canvas and graphic design. I remember fumbling with bulky tablet-and-pen setups that would connect to desktop in college but Procreate is so much better. Apple Pencil controls make sense, "artist assist" features like making your circle a perfect O make me feel like a pro. So worth the price tag in the App store.
Positive: The touch controls (three-finger tap to undo, etc.) are very intuitive and once you've got the hang of them, they become second nature. I fly through simple projects because the user interface makes so much sense and is organized so well.
Negative: The learning curve is steep. Learning on my own was so overwhelming that I sought out courses on YouTube and Skillshare, which discouraged me a bit.
