    Why I use PDF Architect

    Date: Feb 15 2023

Summary: PDF Architect is basically a good software, but the problem is that I don't get support in my native language (Hungarian), and English is difficult.

Positive: More and more offices are sending PDF documents that must be filled out online. This basically requires PDF Architect.

Negative: Renewal and installation are still not quite user-friendly.

    After sales support

    Date: Feb 07 2023

Summary: Usage of PDF Architect is user friendly and overall features is enough. But pricing is quit expensive.

Positive: PDF Architect Support Team prompt reply by email. Help us to soft our problems (about the computer operation system upgrade to Win 10. need to reinstall old version of PDF Architect.)

Negative: License of PDF Architect 9 need to renew yearly, the cost is quit expensive.

    PDF Architect 9

    Date: Jan 17 2023

Summary: I am satisfied with the features, the interface is user-friendly but I don' like the fact that I will have to pay a yearly fee.

Positive: I like the features that are provided; although not being a professional it is sometimes handy to be able to edit PDF-documents or to e.g. insert/withdraw pages.

Negative: I am not so happy with the fact that you charge a yearly (rather expensive) fee. I started using PDF Architect years ago, in version 4. It offered the necessary features for what I need and I only had to pay the purchase cost. I upgraded several times but had problems to activate the program on a new device (on replacement of my laptop). I stopped upgrading but now - my former laptop is completely outdated - I can no longer 'buy' the software, in my opinion it is a lease.

PDF Architect Standard: A useful product easy to use.

    Date: Jan 14 2023

Summary: I'm using PDF Architect Standard to produce my documents because the pdf format is universal. Really easy to produce and distribute documentation with this tool.

    Positive: Simplicity of use.
In the PDF Standard version I often use the "Edit" and "Page" features.
That allow me saving a lot of time when producing new documents regarding the same subject.

Negative: Only one wish: Having the Forms features in the PDF Standard version. That will be great!

    New User

    Date: Mar 17 2023

Summary: Frustrating, I feel cheated. And I am not sure I can use it for more than 1 week. I will protest credit card if I get blocked out.

Positive: Amount of functions. Nothing else yet, It is very cumbersome to use compare to PDF Standard. I cannot get it to do what I want.

Negative: Could not find program to download. I read i would be billed $19.98 for first year. I was billed $48.00.
When I finely got to downloaded program it continues to say 7 day free trial.
I do not know what to do at this point.

    Poor customer service

    Date: Jan 24 2023

Summary: Once you learn the menus and submenus, it works fine. The customer service experience has been terrible. See above.

Positive: A lot of features including OCR functions (extra cost). Pretty much everything I would like to do to edit pdf documents.

Negative: Appalling customer service. They invited me to download PDF Architect 9, (up from my installed version 8) The download apparently wiped out my subscriber information. After FIVE days, customer service has not given me a substantive response or cure.

    Billed twice

    Date: Feb 26 2024

Summary: Whatever. Customer service for billing is terrible. Good luck trying to reach a person and rectify a billing problem.

Positive: The product is fine, it does what you'd expect. The actual pdf work is good, but I won't be buying again. The billing is a mess.

Negative: The automatic renewal billing is a mess. Re-up your subscription manually, or you'll be billed and rebilled twice. AND you'll never get a response to customer service.

Lot of requests to upgrade and it fails if you do not consider them

    Date: Dec 29 2023

Summary: Good for use, when it works.

Positive: Easy to use and good tools to manage pdf files.

Negative: Lots of advertisements, asking you to upgrade to more expensive versions. After declining, it suddenly started to fail recognizing my user, so I cannot use my PRO license. Furthermore, the yearly price is quite expensive.

    This is a primitive editor

    Date: Aug 11 2023

Summary: it is a little cumbersome to try to line up the text to overwrite. For the price, I guess it is okay, but as an editor, it is sub quality.

Positive: You can modify an existing file by using text boxes and overwriting the document's text areas you want to change.
Price is better for the infrequent user.

Negative: Can't do any copying of the PDF, text or otherwise. Only with the OCR version can you do this. Adobe Acrobat offers this with their free version. Disappointing that they can throw in at least what other free PDF editors can do.

Not a great alternative to brand name

    Date: Nov 30 2021

Summary: If you need to adjust or otherwise work in PDFs with some regularity, I'd suggest a different product. This one is not reliable.

Positive: I was hoping this software could do what I needed at a better price point than the brand name software.

Negative: The program has a lot of flaws: I cannot edit PDFs adequately. It's clear I've made an edit, versus it blending seamlessly into the document. At times, the program would seize up and not allow me to adjust the size of a window, for example, or not open a document at all, often necessitating a reboot. Finally, when I declined to extend my license, I was kicked out of the program with a month left on my original license.

    Problems with merged files

    Date: Apr 07 2021

Summary: Seemed to work OK with single page pdf creation, but multi-page documents I lost faith in it. Just double-check larger documents with Acrobat Reader.

Positive: Relatively inexpensive. Somewhat intuitive to use after some use. Didn't seem to cause problems with my Windows PC.

Negative: - Some merged files would freeze and lockup in Acrobat reader. Worked fine in PDFArch, but that was of no use when sending files to others.

    - Annoying to always have to "switch" to Pro version when opening program. Don't understand why the free version needs to stay on your computer after paying for Pro.

    - Customer service is slow and rarely of much help.

Love the product, not a fan of support.

    Edited: Dec 07 2020

Summary: If I could get my perpetual license, I would be satisfied, but to take away a perpetual license that I paid for and give me a 5.5 (month credit) for the additional license I paid for does not make for a good customer experience.

Positive: Easy to use. I can do most everything I need to do, but have not explored all of the options yet and I was excited about testing out the other options until today, when I could not get logged in again.

    Negative: First:
My experience with OCR has not been the greatest. I've opted to only use it when I absolutely have to and understand clean-up will be needed.

    Second:
Support is the worst. First I purchased a perpetual license. It was never listed in my product listing. I couldn't figure out what was wrong and thought maybe I did something wrong so I purchased the latest version which was 7 and thought that went with my perpetual license....WRONG!!

I started searching through old emails and found both purchases. I petitioned the company to give me purchase credit for the year that I purchased, but never used (NOT ONE DAY, because I could never get the account straightened out). They gave me 6 months credit set to expire 12/20/2020 (granted I paid for 1 year). Today, I logged in and the account is telling me that the license has expired!!! REALLY. I have 2 more weeks on that 6 month credit.

Positive: PDF program. I did not get notification of my cancellation, nor received a refund for the program cancellation.

PDF Archtect Support went from Best to Worst

    Date: Jun 16 2024

Summary: PDF Architect 7 actually a delight to work with and I have used it for a dozen years. Only contacted support three or four times in the whole period, usually for billing / activation problems which were handled in 48 hours.
Now charged for features I neither wanted nor would used and it's impossible to contact a human being to straighten it out.

Positive: Only contact PDF support three or four times in a dozen years.
I still use PDF Architect 7, as I found all the upgrades suffering from severe feature bloat.
Always received a swift and helpful reply within 48 hours.
They have gone to a new billing/support system another useless bot.
I recently renewed my license and though I only wanted basic renewal, they have charged me for OCR and other features I specifically did not want. Maybe there was default feature addition in the small print. I'm not sure.
Try to contact support, which is no longer supported, I redirected to their bot.
Naturally, there was no answer to my FAQs and after drilling through the menus, there was a Contact Us via Email link.
Which I clicked on. Filled out the field. An pressed Submit.
    Guess what?
    The feature didn't work!
    Of course.
    I'll try again later.

Negative: Charged for features I didn't want.
Impossible to correct Billing Support to disconnect and obtain a refund.

The Worst Company for Taking Our Money

    Date: May 15 2024

Summary: Great Software - But they just take subscriptions even when they have been stopped or even sorted by their own people. I have had this 3 times in 2024 now.

    Positive: Great Software.

Negative: Charging my credit card even when stopped.
