Summary: Ever since Quickbooks started charging for ACH banks transfers, I've been on the lookout for a new platform that does not charge for this. I have a small wedding photography business (Kyle Carnes Photography) and I hate giving away money needlessly to credit card companies.

Then I found Nickel, which not only doesn't charge for ACH bank transfers, but they also allow adding a 3% processing fee to all credit card payments. There is also no subscription fee. This is huge for my business.

I also love that the platform is so intuitive and easy to use. It doesn't have a bunch of feature bloat. Just quick and easy invoicing and payment processing.

You can get to sending out your first invoice within minutes with your business branding and easy payment options.

While ACH payments can take a few days to enter my bank, this is normal for the industry, so it's to be expected and doesn't take any longer than other platforms.

If you're looking for a more feature-rich platform with accounting and all that then Nickel possibly might not be for you. But if you just want to simply send competent invoices and circumvent credit card processing fees then Nickel fits the bill.

Positive: Easy to use ACH bank transfer processing. The option to automatically add 3% to all credit card transactions.

Negative: There is no mobile application. The website is nearly unusable on mobile, which is a real shame. It needs a mobile app ASAP so users can send invoices on the go.

Summary: If you are looking for a great way to invoice clients, I would not hesitate to try Nickel. It has saved us at least $1,000 this year and my clients say it is easy to use and they like it.

Positive: Easy to set up and utilize. It has taken me a little while to figure out how to organize things best so that I can find invoices easily, but that was user error and now that I've figured that out its been smooth sailing.

Negative: I wish it had a line by line where it added up the invoices for you - for instance if you are adding three invoices - it has a line for each one and adds up the total. Just keeps human error out of it.

Summary: Their system is reliable, easy to use, and their team has been professional and responsive every step of the way.
It has helped us reduce our ACH and credit card fees.

Positive: We’ve definitely seen noticeable savings on our credit card processing fees and ACH transfers compared to our previous provider. The platform is both secure and user-friendly. It's clear they genuinely care about helping businesses keep more of what they earn.

Negative: Some certain features available in QuickBooks invoicing don’t carry over from the Nickel system. For example, I miss being able to see when an invoice email has been opened and viewed.

Summary: I am happy with Nickel and will continue to use it. It's customer support and ease of use are what keep me using it.

Positive: Nickel is easy to use. The 2-way integration with QBO works seamlessly. Their customer support is quick and responsive. The system is easy to use.

Negative: The only feature I see that is still lacking is the multiple level approval process. They only allow a single level approval process.

Summary: Nickel provides me an economical, efficient and professional way of processing payments without the fees that are being charged in the industry. I appreciate what they offer as this makes my business better (at least the payment processing). Their support is expedient and effective! Thank you, Nickel!

Positive: Nickel processes are very efficient, user friendly and professional. The value is unparalleled as they offer free services in which even my bank would charge me monthly fees. The customer support is phenomenal as they are responsive and knowledgeable. Yes - I speak to a human who helps whenever there is need. Nickel processing helps me support my clients with easier ways to make payments in a very professional and efficient manner without all of the fees others are charging! Thank you, Nickel!

Negative: I would like to have the recurring payment feature without a monthly fee. Beyond this one feature - I have been very pleased with every aspect of Nickel.

Summary: Overall we’re happy using Nickel-their customer service is fantastic and always available and the processing times are quick!

Summary: I’ve had an absolutely fantastic experience with this company! From the very beginning, everything was super smooth and easy to understand. Negative: I’ve been super impressed with this company! Everything has been so smooth, easy, and reliable from the very beginning. The processing is a breeze, the system is super user-friendly, and it really takes the stress out of handling payments. The only thing I’d really love is a mobile app, being able to manage everything on the go would make the experience even better. And if they already have one, I’m so sorry, because I haven’t been able to find it! Summary: Overall, a very good experience. I moved from Melio because it was inconsistent with it's reporting and very frustating because of that. I found Nickel, gave it a try and has been very useful for my needs.

Positive: Simple to use. Reporting is solid. Unique links are a plus, and the emails are very timely. For my use case this is exactly what I need. While there are integrations that could be helpful, my use case needs SIMPLICITY and SPEED, and I feel like I get those.

Negative: Reporting, specifically export to CSV was missing a few columns that would be very helpful. It is not a deal breaker but was one thing that stood out. I would also like the ability to save customers and contacts.

Summary: Overall really satisfied. Very simple, but also very effective for the things that I need accomplished.

Positive: I did a deep dive of like 10 other digital payment websites and ended up choosing Nickel. The main reason I chose Nickel is because it has a 0% fee for ACH payments, but it also has some other nice features. It has pretty seamless QuickBooks integration, and what I find most useful is the general payment acceptance link they give you. I can literally send this link to anyone and accept payment from them so I don't have to worry about customizing any invoices or sending the wrong link or anything.

Negative: No major issues with Nickel so far - support is pretty responsive and have fixed the small issues I have ran into.

Summary: Nickel has made payment processing simple and efficient. I highly recommend Nickel for anyone looking for a reliable and easy to use payment solution.

Positive: Nickel is an excellent, straight forward payment processing solution. Nickel is easy to use and cost effective.

Negative: The slight time delay for payment, however it is understandable.

Summary: Nickel is a great payment application. I've been working with it for almost a year now. I have nothing but good things to say about it. It's easy to use, it works well, and it's made my job a lot easier. It lets me do the same tasks as I could with a different service, but way more quickly and easily. I have already recommended Nickel to many of my colleagues, and they're just as happy with it as I am. It's a good choice for any user looking for payment software.

Positive: I love Nickel. I had looked at multiple more mainstream competitors, but with the large cost per transaction, none looked totally appealing. Nickel offers 90% of the features with 0% of the high fees. I have since started using them for all of my invoices across multiple companies.

Negative: The only thing I currently wish Nickel had would be features for more types of businesses, such as selling tickets for classes or digital goods. There isn't really a clean way to do that right now, but it's something that could easily be added.

Summary: My clients have been asking about paying me electronically for a while now. I wish I had found Nickel sooner. Their free ACH processing and the ability to pass on credit card charges were the features that hooked me. Their excellent customer service is the icing on the cake.

Positive: Nickel was very helpful from signing up to getting started to execution. My main criteria when selecting a payment processor was reasonable ACH fees and the ability to pass on credit card fees to my clients. Nickel offers free ACH processing and the ability to pass on credit card fees. From sign-up to execution, everything went smoothly and I have not heard a single complaint from my clients.

Negative: I have been using Nickel for around four months now and I have no complaints.

Summary: Great service will recommend to other owners. East to use and fast payments received in my bank account.

Positive: Currently 0% invoicing fees for ACH transmissions. As a photographer, I don't like paying the typical 3% to receive credit card payments. My client's also don't like paying 3% to use a credit card for their payment. Its so easy to create payment links, attach the invoice, and get paid. Money arrives in the bank accounts in just 2 days.

Negative: Cant think of anything. There are no cons that I can think of.

Summary: Overall, I would highly recommend this payment processor over other processors because it's free, easy to use, secure and integrates with QuickBooks. I hope they ALWAYS have a free plan to service all the small businesses out there!

Positive: We love that the most basic features are free and we really don't need to upgrade AT ALL to do what we need to. We love that it's free, it integrates with QuickBooks AND it can replace QuickBooks' payment link with it's only payment link (which helps us reduce the merchant fee down to NOTHING). It's very easy to set up and even easier to use.

Negative: As an accounting firm who has set this us (and maintains this) for a lot of our clients, it's a pain in the butt that we can't adjust the permission levels for the team members we add to our firm Nickel account. I don't want some of my employees seeing what bills we are paying and how much they're for (especially if they're to other independent contractors/subcontractors). Our work around is adding critical team members directly into each client's Nickel account however, that takes away one of the free seats AND that means team members have to have a UNIQUE login to each client's Nickel account because Nickel does not allow your email to be associated with several Nickel accounts. Our workaround, that Nickel support helped us with, is to create a unique email login for each client.
