Summary: I would recommend others to try ManageEngine OpManager for having a centralized view of all your systems and devices. You can also monitor the server resources and consumption patterns. The CPU, memory and storage can be checked on daily basis for all servers and if there is any high consumption found, actions can be taken accordingly.

Positive: 1. We are using OpManager for managing and monitoring our network devices. Dashboards are helping us in understanding if there are any issues with any of our network or hardware devices.
2. It is easy to use, has lots of features. Reports are helping us in understanding the compute required for devices so that the devices can work as expected.
3. We have deployed it on server for monitoring all the network segments. Real time monitoring helps in debugging faster and help us in pointing to exact place where the issue is.

Negative: No cons as such. OpManager is a very easy to install and is a reliable product. For odd hours monitoring we have configured alerts, so that whenever there are issues at night time or so we get alert mails. We are using it to check bandwidth usage, network packet drops, firewall monitoring, for checking routers, switches and more.

Summary: I have been using Manage Engine OpManager in my current as well as past two organisations. I have found this product to be very useful in monitoring mid-range environments. It is positioned as a mid-to-upper-tier tool (not ultra-premium) that aims to strike a balance between features and cost. Overall the product is fruitful.

Positive: 1) User-friendly interface.
2) Customizable and flexible reporting options.
3) Multiple Software Integration for end-to-end monitoring and troubleshooting.
4) Informative User Dashboard, even customizable.
5) The device can be added by using multiple protocols.
6) Alerting & threshold-based notifications.
7) We have used it for monitoring of network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, servers, VMs, etc.
8) The proactive dashboard visualises the health status.
9) Value for money.

Negative: 1) Upgrades without technical support team involvement are a bit risky (some features break), with downtime or issues, especially when skipping versions or following wrong steps for the same.
2) On-call support could have been a better option for end users.

Summary: We have been using it since long, the platform is very stable and reliable. Gives a centralized and consolidated view of all the devices at one place. The support from ManageEngine is great. The reporting provided by the platform is great and decisions can be made based on the data captured in real time. The graphs and charts helps in identifying the area of concerns easily. Further the notification alerts helps a lot for debugging issues.

Positive: 1. Provides you with option for monitoring and management of all your infra devices. Bandwidth usage can be monitored easily.
2. Web traffic can be monitored, internet usage monitoring can be done and IP address monitoring can also be done using ManageEngine OpManager.
3. ManageEngine OpManager provides real time monitoring of network devices and also helps in detecting network issues and potential threats.
4. It also helps to check if any network packet drops are there.

Negative: There are no cons as such. Monitoring requires configuring the OpManager such that alerts are sent only when threshold breaches. Further the setup required knowledge of the features of OpManager. Rest otherwise the tool is great.

Summary: As mentioned above, this product is designed in such a way, that it is user friendly with almost all the featured required, hence a Very good Product.

Positive: This product is very easy to use, features are there which are required at an affordable price range, beautifully designed, with good support from the OEM and the technical team is also very good.

Negative: We have been using this product for around 8+ years, but have not found any major difficulty as such.

Summary: One of the major use case where we use ManageEngine OpManager is basically for monitoring application consumption of resources before putting it to production. This helps in knowing how much resources and mission critical application would need for working as expected. Further, another use case is for network packet monitoring and bandwidth consumption monitoring. We get alerts as soon as the bandwidth choke starts. This helps us in identifying the root cause and hit the exact point of issue. Also whenever the file system gets full, we get notifications, and hence we act on it on priority and remove unnecessary files to clear space.

Positive: ManageEngine OpManager provides a good option to system administrators as they can monitor all the infra devices through a centralized terminal having OpManager. The OpManager has the capability to monitor infra devices like servers, firewalls, routers, switches and more. The CPU utilization, memory utilization, space utilization, bandwidth utilization all can be monitored from one place. If any such resource utilization crosses the threshold limit, alerts are sent to the respective mail ids. We are using it on daily basis for monitoring. Whenever the application usage increases, this increasing the resource consumption, the same can be monitored and notified by OpManager to the concerned officials so that the required actions can be taken. It not only provides you with real time monitoring but also the historical data can be monitored and decisions for increasing and decreasing the resources can be taken based on the statistics.

Negative: The OpManager is a great option for monitoring, however monitoring large number of devices requires higher compute of the server on which the OpManager is used. Further, configuring the advanced features requires trained system administrators. Integration support is available, however Third party integrations require efforts.

Summary: OpManager has been solving our real time monitoring issues. Even in case where we need historical data for decision making, the data can be extracted as reports and trends can be then analyzed based on how the devices are behaving. All our production, DR and UAT environments are being monitored by ManageEngine OpManager. The alerts can be set, devices can be configured for monitoring, dashboards can be customized as per requirement, thresholds can be configured, all these can be done easily with OpManager.

Positive: 1. Centralized complete dashboard available for monitoring of the servers and other devices. The dashboard is customizable and widgets can be added as required. Reporting is also great w.r.t. monitoring of network devices like routers, switches, firewalls and more.
2. It can monitor resource consumption on servers like CPU, memory and space. Bandwidth utilization can be monitored. If there are network issues or bandwidth choke, then the same can be notified by OpManager, thus resolving issues at a faster extent.
3. Notifications and alerts can be set so that even if the Infra related issues comes they can be highlighted and closed asap.
4. All are servers are under monitoring using ManageEngine OpManager and whenever there is space crunch on server or the CPU utilization is high or memory is crossing the threshold, the concerned team members gets the alerts. This helps in debugging fast rather than searching for issues here and there.

Negative: 1. We have been using it since quite a time and there are no problems with OpManager as such.
Having said that it has to be configured correctly for better results.
2. There are lots of features. One need to learn those before configuring the same.
3. Support issues sometimes may not be attended on time.

Summary: We have benefitted a lot from ManageEngine OpManager as all our server consumption are managed and monitored through it. We have configured the alerts so that even if there are issues being triggered in odd hours, we should get the notifications accordingly. OpManager has helped us in providing reports and single view of all our devices. The visual representation and graphical views helps in understanding the stats easily. Real time monitoring helps in fixing the issues much more faster.

This historical data and stats helps in understanding what would be the optimal resources that would be required for optimal performance.
3. It's alerting mechanism helps in understanding if any thresholds defined has crossed, thus helping the admins in reducing the turn around time.
4. The ManageEngine support is excellent considering the sales and technical both.

Negative: 1. There is a learning curve for new users. They have to deep dive to understand and configure its advanced features.
2. Notifications and alerts has to be set correctly in order to avoid unnecessary bombarding.
3. Third Party integrations required efforts as its not that straight forward.
4. The monitoring machine compute should be high if the number of devices is high.
