MOVA Description
MOVA is designed for all traffic conditions. It can handle very low flows to overloaded junctions. MOVA operates in a delay-minimising mode for the majority of the range. If any approach becomes too busy, the system switches over to a capacity maximising mode. MOVA can also operate at a wide variety of junctions, including simple shuttle-working and large multi-phase multilane sites. Sites with capacity problems under VA control, including congestion on one or more routes. Additional capacity is required to permit pedestrian facilities or safer staging structures to be built. MOVA is used by nearly all Authorities that are responsible for traffic signals. It is required on new signal installations as well as major refurbishments of trunk roads.
