MotorGraph Description
MotorGraph was developed by TRL to provide operators and managers with relevant and timely information about the network. Motorway Incident Detection and Automatic Signalling system (MIDAS) and Managed Motorways are two technologies that aid in efficient operation of the road network. MotorGraph is an important tool for assessing the performance and efficiency of these systems. MotorGraph plots all major motorways in England with traffic detection and signalling. This unique facility allows users to access all available historical and real-time data from all instrumented motorways. MotorGraph provides historical and live information that allows users to monitor and assess the performance of motorway control systems; analyse traffic patterns and optimise traffic control systems; and identify congestion sources and causes.

MOVA
MOVA is designed for all traffic conditions. It can handle very low flows to overloaded junctions. MOVA operates in a delay-minimising mode for the majority of the range. If any approach becomes too busy, the system switches over to a capacity maximising mode. MOVA can also operate at a wide variety of junctions, including simple shuttle-working and large multi-phase multilane sites. Sites with capacity problems under VA control, including congestion on one or more routes. Additional capacity is required to permit pedestrian facilities or safer staging structures to be built.
