    Chromium OS Reviews
Chromium OS is an open source project that aims at creating an operating system that offers a faster, simpler, and more secure computing experience to people who spend most their time online. You can read the design docs and the source code here. Chromium is a tabbed window manager, shell for the web, that we view as a browser application. We don't put things in our UI the same way that Apple and Microsoft do not put things in their standard window frames. The tab is our equivalent to a desktop application's title bars; the frame containing tabs is a convenient way to manage groups of applications. There may be other tab types in the future that don't host the browser toolbar.

    Arch Linux Reviews
Arch Linux is an independent, x86 64 general-purpose GNU/Linux distribution. It strives to provide stable versions of most software through a rolling-release approach. The default installation is a minimal system that can be configured by the user to add only what is needed. Arch Linux is simple. It doesn't allow for unnecessary modifications or additions. It ships software as released by the original developers (upstream) with minimal distribution-specific (downstream) changes, patches not accepted by upstream are avoided, and Arch's downstream patches consist almost entirely of backported bug fixes that are obsoleted by the project's next release. Arch ships the configuration files provided by upstream with changes limited to distribution-specific issues like adjusting the system file paths. It does not add automation features, such as enabling a service just because the package has been installed.

    Xfce Reviews
Xfce is a lightweight desktop environment that runs UNIX-like operating system. It is designed to be quick and efficient, but also visually appealing and user-friendly. To make Xfce stand out, we created new icons for each of our core applications. We also based them on a common palette to ensure consistency. We also created some additional (implicit) design restrictions, loosely following Adwaita’s principles. The Settings Manager received a visual overhaul of its filter box. It can now be hidden permanently. The search capabilities of the filterbox were also improved by searching the 'Comments" part of each dialog's launcher file (aka.desktop). This dialog combines the previously available Mime Settings' with the 'Preferred Applications’ dialogs. Users will find it easier to set default applications to handle files if they are combined in one place.

    Salix Reviews
Salix is a GNU/Linux distribution that is based on Slackware. It is simple, fast, and easy to use with stability as its primary goal. Salix is fully backwards compatible to Slackware so Slackware users have access to Salix repositories that they can use for "extra" quality software for their favorite distribution. Salix is small and light, but requires no care. Everything in the iso has been installed. This includes a complete desktop environment as well as a selection of applications that match the environment. It follows the "one app per task" principle. The console system must have the minimum requirements to be able to start. It does not include a graphical environment. This is great if you are an experienced user who wants to customize your installation for a specific purpose such as a file server, web server, etc.

JupyterHub was created by Project Jupyter to support many users. The Hub can offer notebook server to a class, a corporate data science group, or a high-performance computing group. JupyterHub does not officially support Windows. JupyterHub may work on Windows if you have a Spawner or Authenticator that works on Windows. However, the default JupyterHub will not. Bugs that are reported on Windows will not get accepted and the test suite won't run on Windows. However, small patches that address minor Windows compatibility issues (such basic installation) may be accepted. We recommend that JupyterHub be run in a Linux VM or docker container for Windows-based systems.

    Netrunner Reviews
Standard version comes with all the software you need for daily use and is based upon Debian. The Core version is a stripped-down version of Debian Stable that allows you to build your own system or run it with low-spec hardware such as arm-boards. Netrunner uses KDE Plasma, and has tuned it to be as responsive and snappy as possible. Netrunner offers a variety of Window- and Desktop-Themes that you can customize right away. We use the Aurorae-3 engine from KWin for most of our Window Themes. This allows blurring and transparency even on low-end computers.

    MidnightBSD Reviews
It includes all the software that you would expect to use for daily tasks, such as email, web browsing and word processing. MidnightBSD is a small group of dedicated developers who strive to make an operating system that everyone can use freely. Available for x86 and AMD64 as well as Virtual Machines. Although the FreeBSD project has created a reliable server operating system, it is often not usable or performant on the desktop. Desktop users should be able to customize scheduling, allocation of resources and security settings. Many of the BSD projects can be used on older hardware or servers. Some distributions of FreeBSD have a nice graphical user interface but suffer from a server-centric design underneath the hood. We didn't fork FreeBSD out of spite, but rather to provide a good starting point.

It contains many of Linspire's software packages, with the exception of those that require a license for redistribution. Freespire can be redistributed as you like. Freespire requires a processor with x86_64 bits, 4 gb RAM and a minimum of 20 gb on the hard drive in order to run a basic environment. We recommend that users who wish to run emulation programs such as VMWare and VirtualBox have at least 6-8 gb of memory for optimal performance.
