Chromium OS Description

Chromium OS is an open source project that aims at creating an operating system that offers a faster, simpler, and more secure computing experience to people who spend most their time online. You can read the design docs and the source code here. Chromium is a tabbed window manager, shell for the web, that we view as a browser application. We don't put things in our UI the same way that Apple and Microsoft do not put things in their standard window frames. The tab is our equivalent to a desktop application's title bars; the frame containing tabs is a convenient way to manage groups of applications. There may be other tab types in the future that don't host the browser toolbar.
