    Great Software for Remote Support

    Summary: Great product. I can access customer computers from wherever I am from my phone of PC. Well worth it. I have been using this product for years and it has improved my efficiency massively. This is the best remote support product out there.

    Positive: I can use my cell phone to remote into computers for support
    unlimited amount of devices
    Remote into multiple devices at a time (with correct licensing)
    Can create groups and grant certain users access to certain groups
    Can transfer data back and forth using software
    Can configure unattended access as well as require users to authenticate

    Negative: Slight quirks with the desktop software such as scrolling down to group, click on group and program takes back up to the top.
    When using unattended access, would be nice to be able to switch to sharing my screen

    Solid feature set with a better price point

    Summary: We have been using ISL Light for almost 5 years now and it remains an important tool in our MSP toolbox to effectively manage client fleets.

    Positive: When TeamViewer switched to the subscription model and increased their pricing several years ago, we went in search of comparable solutions. As an MSP, we were drawn to ISL Light for not just the lower price point – but also the option to self-host, ability to connect to mobile devices (without it being an add-on), and coverage across all key operating systems. Management of multi-screen remote computers is much better with ISL than with other solutions we use such as JumpCloud. Clipboard sync and file transfer is much simpler too. We also appreciate that the software is under continuous development and enhancement.

    Negative: Connecting to a remote computer does take a little longer, but it's still less than 30 seconds in most instances.

    Summary: I love this product. It's simple, fast, secure, multi-user, multi-session, multi-tenant, and very cost effective.

    Positive: Ease of use.
    Multi-platform connect and support.
    Multi-screen support.
    Mobile device support.
    Grouping of devices by client with custom naming of devices
    Individual device connection passwords: using a separate password management tool, protect who has access to each device connection.
    Reporting/logging and notification of remote device connection and disconnect occurrences.

    Negative: Supporting mobile is cumbersome but it really would be difficult to improve it.
    iOS devices present challenges for the user to activate the remote session. Sometimes, less savvy users have struggles activating the remote viewing security needed for support.

    Summary: Having used this for years now and having the ability to use my computer and tablet to support my customers seamlessly all included in the very reasonable license cost of this software is just excellent. The software performs every time and offers very low friction once the receiving party runs the software. It is incredibly feature complete as a support tool and offers the best value on the market in my experience.

    Positive: I moved to ISL from a much more expensive hosted product in part to be able to self host and also to stop being nickel and dime'd. I love that your license comes with all of the features this software offers and you do not need to piecemeal together the solution.

    Negative: When using this with a Mac you have to instruct users to open a DMG file and then run the program. I understand why this is but it is often confusing for end users and does hamper the use.

    Summary: In total, ISL is a great asset to any organization with a small IT team but large physical footprint. It allows flexibility to make most repairs remotely and does not require additional training for the end user to utilize. It is well worth the investment for any organization looking to streamline IT solutions.

    Positive: ISL provides a basis for remote repairs and user help across the 9 centers we support. It is always up and running when I need it to be, which allows me to help staff quickly and efficiently without having to send them any sort of remote login link that they may not understand how to use.
    ISL also allows me to monitor which computers are online and being utilized as well as wake hibernating PCs for updates remotely.

    Negative: To change an access password requires travel to the computer in question and accessing ISL. This is a rare occurrence that is not worth complaining about, as it only occurs when the previous admin did not properly record access passwords.

    Summary: I’ve used this for a number of years and install it for all clients as a backup in case they need help. You can direct clients to download the client for ad hoc remote support.

    Positive: Unlimited unattended access deployments.
    Good value.
    Works across all operating systems.
    Never had an outage.
    Useful admin features.
    Fast and works perfectly with Australian internet speeds.

    Negative: Unlimited plan and the prepaid minutes don’t have a long expiry if you don’t use it often.
    Mac needs some permissions granting which can be difficult if clients struggle with system preferences.
