    Great software for Interior Designers!

    Date: Dec 18 2024

Summary: Houzz Pro is easy to use! It was quick to learn and visually appealing to my clients. Makes my business feel professional and elevated!

Positive: The product clipper is great! It is far superior in speed and ease of use to other similar product clippers I've tested with competitor companies!

Negative: It is a bit more expensive than other similar software.

    My experience working with Houzz

    Date: Oct 04 2024

Summary: The first 3 years were really great for me to have Houzz because I needed a lot of help building a website, showing my work and getting leads. lately, the leads amount have dropped significantly, and although I have invested in new marketing packages, I still have not seen the results. however, it has been six months and I am hoping things pick up again! I enjoy working with my account manager, Anthony who has been really helpful through out the years.

Positive: Houzz provides good support to new business owners from how to get leads to how to manage and track projects. They set up the business owner with an account manager and the person I get to work with, Anthony is very knowledgeable and helpful at the time of making marketing decisions. I have enjoyed how easy it is to manage my website through houzz. From the design of it to the content that goes on it, I can change things myself at any time or request the support from a Houzz specialist to advise me on what would work best. Houzz also has packages that help you expose your company at a local (city) and nation wide levels.

Negative: Houzz offers the option to buy marketing packages that expose you to different cities through adds but it doesn't offer the direct purchase of leads. You get to pick the level of exposure you want to pay for and this gets measured by clients interactions with company's Houzz portal or website. I find this challenging specially if you are just beginning to build a brand/company, and although I have been satisfied so far with their service, I wish they offered the option to purchase leads in the future. I think this would help diversify their product and help business owners have more tools of generating new clients.

    General Contractor Review of Houzz

    Date: Oct 01 2024

Summary: Overall the experience has been pretty good. As I continue to use the software I'm sure any issues I've had thus far will no longer be relevant.

Positive: The software is more intuitive than most software's I've used in the past. Fairly easy to get the hang of how to navigate the software. I like that I can call customer support at any time.

Negative: I don't really think of too many cons with the software. It's all pretty intuitive.

    Very helpful for Interior Designers

    Date: Sep 25 2024

Summary: Houzz Pro is very helpful on a day-to-day with product selection. There are a few hiccups while using but overall very helpful for each project.

Positive: Product selection tracker, vendor/trade account database, product clipper extension, and mood boards.

Negative: Purchasing gets confusing. Especially the way taxes are set up. Sometimes vendors calculate their taxes slightly different so there's no way to add a tax or additional fees column to balance our quotes vs. the taxes calculated by Houzz Pro.

Houzz Pro is the oil that keeps the machine going at our design firm

    Date: Sep 16 2024

Summary: Overall, I'm happy with Houzz and it is a tool that is very much needed in our industry. Houzz's user face is much easier to navigate for creatives vs the competing project management platforms I've used in the past.

Positive: Great for bookkeeping, stay organized and up to date on payments. Our sales support rep is always eager to help us which is also nice!

Negative: Terrible for time tracking. I have to use a separate time tracker since you cannot start and stop your time log for the same task.

    Good platform to consider

    Date: Sep 03 2024

Summary: We are moderately satisfied, however for now we see insufficient ROI, which is certainly disappointing.

Positive: A pretty competitive and comprehensive platform that allows to manage a design business essentially from one place.

Negative: At the same time it is a bit overwhelming too and feels reductant at times.

    Great resource for designers!

    Date: Aug 25 2024

Summary: Houzz Pro has helped my firm scale and is really quite seamless from the designer and client sides. Definitely recommend.

Positive: The features are so specifically tailored to designers and how a design firm functions - it's wonderful! I love the ability to customize shared features with clients and the rest of my team too.

Negative: Price - a bit expensive for what my firm needs.
Compatibility with Quickbooks - can be buggy.

    Great introductory software

    Date: Aug 07 2024

Summary: Great overall for basic models. You may need to upgrade for more intricate structural details, like custom arches and classic structural details

Positive: Easy for a beginner modeler to draw and layout designs. If general layouts are all you're after, than this is for you.

Negative: Definitely becomes more complicated when trying to make the more intricate details of your design. Multiple finishes on walls and making half walls, on the ceiling or from the floor

    Overall Good Software

    Date: Jun 29 2024

Summary: Overall I am content with the software. We use it daily for estimating and lead/client tracking and change orders. It is great for takeoff ideas but there is a lot of room for improvement still. The nice thing is that if you request certain things from the support staff they will put a suggestion in for that item, so occasionally features get added, which is nice.

Positive: Good estimating features, takeoff options, and customization. We like how we can customize our estimates to meet the needs of our clients, show/hide specific lines and save templates we use often. The takeoff features are great because you can mock up an existing or proposed floorplan with some basic features.

Negative: Lacking on the client facing side, subcontractor side, and document management. I wish you could track subcontractor COI expiration, W-9's, subcontractor agreements, clients scope of work per trade, etc. I also wish the design/takeoff feature allowed you to build decks/screen porches and expanded selection features for interior and exterior spaces.

Positive: The pros are the ease of use and the advertisement and project management and making invoice and all things in one app

Negative: The cons are the price and customer service they are friendly but they can’t don’t of things

    Houzz Review

    Date: Jul 13 2022

Summary: I would be interested in keeping the service if the pricing was more reasonable or if I had a better return on investment. At this point, I'm not seeing any results.

Positive: I liked the name recognition, the customer service, and I had good results within the first couple of months.

Negative: After a while the leads stopped and I realized I would be paying too much for a long period of time.

    Review

    Date: Feb 26 2026

Summary: Wish Houzz checked all of the boxes, but it has pros and cons when compared with the BuilderTrend software that I came from.

Positive: User interface is responsive and friendly
Suite of features is comprehensive (mile wide)
    Pricing is compelling
AI help agent is usually quite helpful

Negative: Integration w/ QuickBooks is lacking significantly: two way communication. Linking to existing product/services in QB
Estimate breakdown lacks room + trade option
Selection boards do not have due date feature

    Houzz Pro Custom

    Date: Oct 08 2025

Summary: The software is decent with a lot of features, but overall is fairly pricey when factoring in some of the missing elements. Probably better suited for sales and design only, but is lacking in great project management and expense control. ACH debit is pricey and adds up quick if you do a lot of larger ticket projects. We typically do projects that are $10k and up, which hit the max on the project and in many cases, we hit the cap on several project payments. As a general contractor completing many types of jobs and requiring sales and project management, we have found it to have a lot of features with many that need a lot of improvements.

Positive: We have used this software for several years and switched to custom approximately 1 year ago. Estimates/quotes are very professional looking and the layout is eye appealing. Text message is available from the CRM, along with email and messages within the software. Easy communication with team members and sub contractors makes it easy to share important information, files, and photos. Many AI features that can assist with becoming more efficient.

Negative: - Photos are slow to load in the field.
    - Customer/Project expenses are not easily tracked and could be improved for better understanding of savings/losses within a project to manage profit better.
    - You can only have 1 main point of contact per project.
    - Many AI features are not very accurate, but I am sure this will improve in time.
    - Collecting payment within the CRM is easy, although the cost is relatively high. 1% with a $100 cap for ACH debit and 3.6% for credit card.
    - Nowhere to add an expiration date on quotes.

It has potential but buggy in my experience

    Date: Sep 05 2025

Summary: I'm hoping my experience gets better, but right now its just not a smooth transition. It's buggy. I can't figure out how to even schedule an estimate unless I'm on the computer.

Positive: I love the 3D floor plans. It's actually won a $10k job for me. I don't think I can try to say too much more that I like about the software. I'm just trying to get to the required characters.

Negative: It's very hard to use. I'm still trying to figure it out on my own. The room scanner is for Apple only. If you're an Android user, you need to buy a new device to use this feature.
Support is hard to reach. I have had a couple of times where I reached out and didn't get an answer back from my 'dedicated support'. Opps, I didn't see the email that you sent twice! Opps, I'm sorry you called, left a voice mail but I didn't know it until midday the next day.
The software seems buggy. That's the answer I keep getting.

A lot of Good Here, BUT Some Not So Good

    Date: Nov 09 2024

Summary: I actually do like the software quite a bit, for the most part it is wonderful. Where it really goes down hill for me is the financial part of it. It is so lacking and clunky. That part of it needs a lot of attention. You HAVE to enter a PO, then log payment on PO, why not add the option to manually enter a material or vendor invoice. The accounting/financial portion of this feels very much like an after thought. Everything else is awesome. I hard a hard time deciding between a 3 or a 4 so I went with the 3.

Positive: Client/Leads module, one of the best I have seen (and I have seen a lot).
Marketing module makes it so easy to create and send campaigns at any level of expertise.
The estimating and take-off module is miles above other software in it's category.
The 3D Floor Plans Tool - so easy to use and the accuracy is awesome, I have wasted so much time playing with tool (and I mean that in a great way.
The interface is very user-friendly and easy to navigate.
Converting the leads to a project is so seamless and easy.
The invoicing module and client interface all top tier.
The schedule module is so easy to use for anyone.
The dashboard is easy to navigate and follow.
Ideabooks & Mood Board are such an awesome feature.
    Tasks are also great.

Negative: The "Certification" is very lacking, it doesn't deep dive into any of the modules except the 3D Floor and even that is lacking.

The entering of project "outgoing" money is very lacking.
The financial reporting capabilities is also very lacking.
Have to invite subs and vendors to add them to the projects is aggressive and unnecessary.
