Summary: It’s a very useful tool to speed up edits and redrafts, make your writing sharper and cut down word count. It’s a lot faster and easier than cutting and pasting into ChatGPT. It’s also very secure and ethical. It doesn’t use your text to train AI models.

Positive: It sits in the Word ribbon and is very easy to use. It doesn’t check anything unless you ask it to. It has lots of different useful features for different stages of refining documents such as Word Count Trimmer and Plain English Converter. You select which sentences you want suggestions for and you choose whether or not to accept the suggestion or you can modify the suggestion before you replace the text. It’s really helpful for making writing more succinct, clearer and sharper.

Negative: It makes suggestions at sentence level and I would sometimes prefer to run a whole paragraph or section through it to speed things up. However, the fact that it works sentence by sentence makes it much more secure and also gives you a lot more visibility and control over what it’s changing.
