Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room Reviews

Summary: A user-friendly and flexible platform supported by a responsive 24/7 team. We would use Datasite again

Positive: Team Datasite helped us move quickly, providing a contract and training session on short notice. The platform was intuitive, allowing us to set up a small data room and go live within two days. Permission settings were highly customizable for both internal and external teams.

Negative: The SaaS platform is separate from the desktop application, which meant we could not preload files and configure permissions before uploading them

Summary: No site is perfect but this one is easiest as someone who uses it to receive files because I can see as new files are added.

Positive: Easy to use, like that everything is date stamped so easier to find newly uploaded items. The search function works well too.

Negative: There are no character limits on file names so can have trouble downloading a zipped file because file name is too long.

Summary: Overall Datasite is very helpful for our team acting on the sell side of transactions. Increases efficiency in handling buyer requests, questions and sharing of information.

Positive: Datasite allows us to efficiently manage and coordinate the diligence process, from gathering info from our clients, to quickly reviewing within the site and packaging up go share. Easiest process to manage permissions and buyer capabilities within the site.

Negative: One potential improvement is identifying different media types for unloaders and what it means in terms of what the user will be charged.

Summary: Easy to tell if I reviewed one document or not. Elegant user facing platform. easy to navigate.

Positive: Easy to search.

Negative: Could do a better job on search and may build in some AI feature to facilitate review.

Summary: I am a frequent user of Datasite. I am impressed with its functionality in making the process of completing due diligence easier.

Positive: I use the Datasite platform a lot. I find that it is user friendly and very easy to navigate through the folders and documents. I like that it has a folder for "new" documents and another for "downloads", which makes it easier to find what you need in a timely manner.

Negative: There isn't anything in particular that I don't like about Datasite.

Summary: Datasite is my go-to choice for a virtual data room, as a former i-banker and current PE investor! The sleek design and advanced search function, as well as detailed notifications for new document uploads, are some of my favorite highlights. I always am happy when I see a target company has chosen Datasite (versus some of the other well-known competitors).

Positive: I love the notifications / updates and how you can track what has been recently loaded by the seller (other data rooms do not have that functionality). I also like the sleek design (there are other VDRs out there that look 10+ years older than Datasite)

Negative: The interface of the screen(s) to upload documents was a bit non-intuitive for my portco's mgmt. team (minor comment - I found it intuitive)

Summary: overall, very happy with Datasite VDRS - easily my favorite VDR provider. Eager to see what AI tools can be developed and incorporated directly into the product

Positive: Super fast and easy to use; love that it opens files in separate browser windows; downloads are easy and I like the option for different file name formats

Negative: Times out too quickly; needs better integration with XLS documents

Summary: I have been using Datasite since I started in my role in M&A back in 2021 and it has been by far my favorite platform to use for hosting data rooms. Datasite is very user-friendly and offers a number of features, backed by a strong customer service / support team that make the user experience exceptional.

Positive: Sleek, easy-to-navigate platform with useful features like "view-as", document redaction, Q&A, document translation, complementary prepare sites and more.

Negative: Many times, other providers can prove to be more competitive on pricing; this makes those options more attractive for our clients, despite the otherwise great experience provided by Datasite.

Summary: Overall, my experience with Datasite has been extremely positive. The platform's ease of use and well built framework provides so much relief for heavy data room users. I never have to worry because I know that buyers are always on board when Datasite is being introduced as the VDR!

Positive: Datasite has made the VDR process a lot more intuitive and efficient. Its so easy to have one platform that everyone feels comfortable using (buyers, sellers and clients).

The essential capabilities are so awesome including analytics, search functionality, tracking and redaction.

Negative: Performing bulk downloads can be lengthy and difficult

Summary: Great experience and easy user interface. Notification emails are prompt and can be tailored to user needs.

Positive: - SSO login with no need to type username / password
- Easy to navigate
- Good customer support
- Quick downloads

Negative: Only cons are when administrator enables security features making files / folders difficult to download (e.g., in bulk) or viewable only on-screen.

Summary: Excellent product that I would recommend to future clients for all of the mergers and acquisition related needs.

Positive: Great layout and searchability within the documents. Datasite also has great speed of use which is critical when dealing with large volumes of documents.

Negative: Pricing is high compared to other products which can make this prohibitive for smaller deals.

Summary: No other peer comes close to having the feature set Datasite does, they may be slightly higher priced than others but the product is premium and therefore deserves premium pricing - it's worth it for all parties involved in an M&A transaction!

Positive: This platform has great functionality, ease of use, customer support, and is ahead of its peers in every regard.

Negative: Some of the login / logout flows don't work properly where you get redirected to the front page after looking at a specific document.

Summary: Great platform which I would recommend to anyone. I have used Datasite on multiple projects and it has always simplified the processes I have been working on.

Positive: - Easy to use interface - modern UI, very instinctive
- Large choice of functionality and features
- Unmatched support team
- Great Q&A tool

Negative: - New uploads can take a lot of time to come live
- Pricing is higher given vs. other platforms but that's the price of quality

Positive: The interface is straightforward, which helps me quickly find, upload, and organize files during due diligence.

Negative: I’ve noticed that larger document uploads can be slower, which is a hassle when I'm working under pressure.

Summary: Very pleasant overall experience. It never gives me any problems and have never had to contact their support team

Positive: I've mostly been a downloader, not an uploader of Datasite, but for those features its always been very intuitive.

Negative: It'd be nice to be able to download files fast if possible
