Importing geometries into the Borealis system Edited: Apr 02 2025
Summary: 1. Housing and Infrastructure
Precise mapping of housing and infrastructure enables harmonious planning and avoids land use conflicts.
2. Plantations and Crops
Rigorous management of plantations, annual crops, and fallow land optimizes agricultural yields and preserves land fertility.
3. Sacred Sites and Cultural Heritage
The identification and integration of sacred sites and heritage into development projects ensures their preservation and respect for local traditions.
4. Geographic Information System (GIS)
All geospatial data is structured in a GIS, enabling efficient land management while preserving ecological and sociocultural balances.
5. Overall Objective
Borealis aims to reconcile economic development, environmental preservation, and respect for heritage, thus ensuring sustainable land use.Positive: In the Borealis system, taking into account the geometries of dwellings, plantations, annual and fallow crops, as well as sacred sites and cultural heritage, is essential for effective and sustainable land management. The precise structuring of these elements in the Borealis Geographic Information System (GIS) makes it possible to optimize the development of agricultural and urban spaces while preserving ecological and socio-cultural balances. Dwellings and infrastructure must be mapped precisely to ensure harmonious planning and avoid land use conflicts. Plantations and crops require rigorous management to maximize agricultural yields and preserve land fertility by integrating fallow periods. In addition, the identification of sacred sites and cultural heritage is crucial for their preservation and integration into development projects, thus ensuring respect for local traditions and values. All of this geospatial data therefore makes it possible to reconcile economic development, environmental preservation and respect for heritage within the framework of the Borealis system.
Negative: A drawback of the Borealis system is the complexity and burden of collecting and managing geospatial data. The precision required to map settlements, crops, and cultural sites requires significant human and technological resources, which can lead to high costs, extended lead times, and technical challenges in updating information.
