Ashampoo Office Description

You can create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations quickly and easily - with amazing compatibility! Although we've all seen Microsoft Office alternatives, none of them were as affordable or compatible with Microsoft document formats. Ashampoo Office 8 is an office suite that doesn't compromise and doesn't require a long training period. It lets you create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations faster than ever. It offers all the comfort and options you would expect from an Office suite. Ashampoo Office 8 does not save your files to an online cloud service, but instead stores them on your computer. It can be installed on a USB flash drive. It's the Office suite that you've always wanted. Write is a modern Microsoft Word alternative that allows you to create and edit any size document, from business letters, brochures, and greeting cards to your entire thesis. You'll never lose sight of your documents with miniature page previews and a clickable Table of Contents.

    Ashampoo use and design

    Date: Jun 29 2021

Summary: Overall, I really like this product and will continue to use it for a long time to come. I would absolutely recommend this program to anyone.

Positive: I love that the program is much like Microsoft office but cheaper in price and in my opinion, much more user friendly. The program has all the same features as Office and similar setup.

Negative: I wish there was a way to fully customize the look and design to fit my own needs. By adding only the items I use regularly to the homepage instead of having to look for what I need.

    Ashampoo Office 8 - Write

    Date: Nov 13 2021

Summary: It is a fine alternative to MS Words but not fully compatible in formatting your document.

Positive: I have only tested AO8 - Write so my opinion is about Write for now. Write can import your old MS Words documents pretty well but not faithfully. Editing is more or less similar to Words. The menus are somewhat simpler but pretty limited compared to Words menus. For an alternative to MS Words, Write is a fine product if you start writing your own document in it. Do not import your old Word document for the reason I ponder in Cons.

Negative: 1. AO8 is used only in metric, no inches which is a downside. Computer printers are often designed using the imperial unit while metric is a little messier in computer terms. 1 in is easier to vision than 25.4mm, so does 0.5 in compared with 12.7mm or 0.25in with 6.35mm.
This choice of metric-based unit also mess up with the fonts which also primarily designed with the imperial unit. In fact the whole computer was designed with the imperial unit. You would understand if you import an old Word document into Write. It is messier with the table, my table format is thrown out of it original format I had in Words.
