Apache Lucene™, an open-source search engine, is developed by the Apache Lucene™. The project releases Lucene™, a core search library. It also includes PyLucene, a python binding to Lucene. Lucene Core is a Java library providing powerful indexing and search features, as well as spellchecking, hit highlighting and advanced analysis/tokenization capabilities. The PyLucene sub-project provides Python bindings to Lucene Core. The Apache Software Foundation supports the Apache community of open-source projects.
