Instant searching with dtSearch products is possible across terabytes (or more) of text from a wide variety of online and offline data sources. Search time, including concurrent search time, is usually less than a second. dtSearch Desktop, dtSearch Network and dtSearch Server can be used in a classic Windows environment to perform individual or network-based search. There are multiple versions of the dtSearch Engine SDK for different platforms. The dtSearch Engine can be used in either an Intranet or Internet server-based environment. It supports multithreaded search with no limit. It is simple to index: simply point to the folders and online data you wish to index. dtSearch will automatically determine what files, emails, or other content you have. dtSearch can simultaneously search and build any number of terabyte-sized indexes.

"Everything" is a search engine that instantly locates files and folders based on filenames for Windows. "Everything", unlike Windows search, displays all files and folders on your computer. To limit the number of files and folders displayed, you can use a search filter. "Everything" does not index file and folder names. It takes about a minute to build its database. It takes about 1 second to index a fresh Windows 10 install (roughly 120,000 files). All files can be searched using the content, search function. Searching for content in files is slow because they are not indexed. A fresh installation of Windows 10 (about 120,000) will take approximately 14 MB of RAM and less than 9MB of disk space. 1,000,000 files will require approximately 75 MB of RAM and 45 MB of storage space.
