Description
WordCraft is an accessible and open-source word processing tool designed for those who create and format various types of documents. Featuring a ribbon interface, it offers a range of editing and design functionalities that include styles, tables, images, citations, footnotes, tables of contents, comments, tracked changes, as well as spelling and grammar checks, and mail merge capabilities. The software can read and write DOCX files, accommodate legacy DOC formats, and is compatible with ODT, RTF, HTML, Markdown, LaTeX, and plain text, in addition to allowing exports to PDF and page images. It operates natively on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and has a WebAssembly version that can be deployed on a static server. Moreover, its command-line utilities, JSON control channel, and server functioning under the Model Context Protocol enable scripted and AI-agent-driven document processing workflows. Currently in the alpha stage, WordCraft is continuously evolving, with ongoing improvements in file compatibility and feature set. Legivel transforms Markdown into PDF documents that resemble traditional books, catering to developers, product teams, writers, and AI agents alike. Users have the option to utilize a web-based editor featuring a dual-pane preview to create PDFs or to transmit Markdown via the HTTP API or MCP server. The rendering capabilities encompass GitHub-style tables, task lists, footnotes, alerts, and support for Mermaid diagrams, LaTeX formulas, code snippets, SVG graphics, barcodes, and QR codes. The final PDFs can be enhanced with a table of contents that includes page numbers, bookmarks, embedded fonts, selectable and searchable text, clickable links, repeated headers in tables, and vector-rendered diagrams and equations. This versatile tool is frequently employed for generating reports, technical documentation, invoices, manuals, scholarly papers, and various forms of correspondence. Users can take advantage of a free plan that allows for up to 100 documents each month, while subscription options provide increased document limits to accommodate higher needs.
