Description
The gear calculation encompasses all prevalent gear types, including cylindrical, bevel, worm, crossed helical, hypoid, and face gears. Alongside calculations adhering to standards such as ISO, DIN, AGMA, and VDI, a variety of sizing and optimization tools are available, along with methodologies that extend beyond the established standards. The integration of shaft and bearing calculations is fully realized within KISSsoft®, allowing for the optional assessment of shaft strengths and bearing rating life while factoring in internal geometry in accordance with ISO TS 16281. The calculation process can consider multiple coaxial shafts and their associated bearings, with the determination of torsion and bending-critical eigenfrequencies for these shafts. During the evaluation of shaft-hub connections, the system verifies the validity of each connection and ensures that the resulting pressures do not exceed the allowable material characteristic values. Furthermore, all calculation modules provide sizing capabilities for strength-relevant geometric dimensions alongside the maximum torque that can be transmitted, enhancing the overall precision of the analysis. This comprehensive approach not only streamlines the design process but also improves reliability in mechanical applications.
Description
WindowsLDP, short for Load Distribution Program, serves as a quasi-static tool for the design and analysis of both external and internal spur and helical gear pairs. This software has been widely adopted by many consortium members as their primary resource for gear design and analysis. There are also modified versions of this program that facilitate surface wear and duty cycle evaluations. Utilizing computationally efficient and precise semi-analytical methods, WindowsLDP calculates the load distribution across multiple engaging teeth of gears. Based on this load distribution data, it assesses the loaded transmission error, along with root and contact stress distributions, mesh stiffness functions, and tooth forces, while also providing insights into other relevant design parameters such as lubricant film thickness and surface temperature. Users can select either SI or English units for their analyses, enhancing flexibility in application. Additionally, WindowsLDP supports multi-torque analyses and evaluations of manufacturing robustness, making it a comprehensive tool for gear design. The program's versatility allows engineers to tailor their analyses to specific project requirements effectively.
