Description
HoneyWire is a versatile open-source platform designed for deception technology, allowing users to implement canary-based tripwires throughout internal networks to identify unauthorized lateral movements and intrusion attempts.
The deployment process involves operators utilizing a terminal UI (TUI) command-line interface wizard to set up multiple "HoneyWires," which are lightweight, distroless imitation services, on any Linux server within the network.
Once deployed, these HoneyWires operate covertly in the background, lacking any legitimate purpose that would prompt interaction from authorized users or systems.
Upon an attacker engaging with a HoneyWire, a precise alert is triggered and sent to the centralized Hub as well as to designated notification channels, ensuring immediate awareness of potential security breaches.
Various deployment options are available, including imitation router login pages, canary TCP tarpits, and network scanning detectors, all aimed at enhancing security protocols.
The Hub serves as a self-hosted control center built on Go, which is implemented through Docker and manages the centralized oversight of all active HoneyWires while also streamlining configuration management by replacing traditional manual JSON configurations.
This comprehensive approach not only strengthens network security but also simplifies the management of deceptive technology within the system architecture.
Description
Wire boasts a vast pool of developers, straightforward registration, and dedicated resources to streamline business processes. It enables seamless cross-chain interactions without the need for bridges. The network supports an impressive capacity of up to 112,000 transactions each second, coupled with rapid block intervals of just 500 milliseconds. Its expansion strategy is closely tied to user adoption, allowing for significant scalability as the internet grows. Operating as a public chain, Wire is built on open-source principles and governed by its community. The network employs a cutting-edge Appointed Proof of Stake (APoS) mechanism, marking an advancement over the traditional Delegated Proof of Stake. Additionally, it integrates the Universal Polymorphic Address Protocol (UPAP), which, when used alongside name service smart contracts on various layer-1 blockchains, significantly boosts interoperability much like how HTTP unified internet communication. Wire Network signifies a groundbreaking transformation in blockchain technology, introducing partition-resistant networking, serverless computing, and distributed storage all within a trustless computing framework. With its innovative approach, Wire aims to redefine the future of decentralized applications and services.
