Description
Glass Desktop Box is a Windows application designed to help users manage local files through visual workspaces and facilitate the sharing of specific files or folders. Within this platform, users can customize their Desktop Boxes by arranging items, creating tabs and folder links, adding notes, and selecting either static or animated backgrounds. A Windows host has the capability to invite colleagues, clients, or friends to collaborate in a shared workspace or exchange files via a browser link, allowing guests to upload and download files without needing to install the desktop application or set up an account. File transfers utilize a direct peer-to-peer connection whenever feasible, with a relay option as a backup, ensuring that shared files are not stored permanently in the cloud. During the sharing process, users can take advantage of PIN-protected access and a live chat feature for enhanced communication. This software caters to both individual users and teams looking to efficiently organize their projects locally while also sharing files seamlessly across different devices. The application operates on Windows, while recipients have the flexibility to join through web browsers on various platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, iPad, or Android, making it highly accessible for diverse users. Additionally, the intuitive interface promotes better productivity and collaboration among users.
Description
qURL offers a solution for developers, IT administrators, and small teams to effortlessly share local web applications, APIs, and files without the need for deployment. Utilizing its command-line interface, users can publish a service hosted on their machine and generate a link that adheres to specific access policies, allowing them to invite users, approve access requests, confirm email identities, or permit open access via the link. The application remains on the publisher's local system and does not require a public network address. The qURL CLI is compatible with macOS, Linux, and Windows operating systems, while the qURL Desktop application for macOS is designed to facilitate file and folder sharing with recipients who use a web browser. An additional optional MCP server provides compatible AI clients with the capability to create and manage links through the qURL API. The service offers a tier without account requirements that allows for up to three simultaneous shares, while a free account provides up to ten active shares and allows for 10 GiB of monthly traffic during the early access phase. Users commonly employ qURL for purposes such as previewing development work, conducting private demonstrations, gathering client feedback, and sharing files from their computers, showcasing its versatility and utility for various sharing needs. In this way, qURL not only streamlines the sharing process but also enhances collaboration among team members and clients alike.
