Description
EveryDay Intervention effectively decreases chronic absenteeism by 10–15% across districts through targeted, personalized outreach, along with support for families in their primary language. This distinctive strategy does not necessitate alterations in school-level operations. We are equipped to enhance your district's PreK–12 attendance programs using research-backed attendance nudges. By integrating behavioral science, data analytics, and family engagement, EveryDay Intervention delivers customized communications to families, which have been shown to reduce absences on a district-wide scale. Our initiative ensures successful absence prevention in various schools and grade levels, maintaining existing school practices. While EveryDay Intervention is grounded in rigorous evidence and thoughtful research, it also prioritizes a supportive implementation process. We continuously track attendance data within districts, and when students show signs of potential learning loss, we proactively send encouraging messages through text and mail to connect them with available resources. This comprehensive approach not only addresses attendance but also fosters a supportive community around each student's educational journey.
Description
The team at the Office of School Support is dedicated to enhancing school attendance across the entire district. When students miss classes, it becomes challenging for them to be adequately prepared and engaged in their education. Higher attendance rates are linked to better academic performance and improved graduation statistics. The attendance team collaborates with schools, students, families, and partners from Ramsey County to take proactive measures when attendance issues first arise. It is crucial that parents or guardians inform the school each time their child is absent, as not all absences will be considered excused. To report an absence, it is necessary to either call the main office or submit a note detailing the reason for the absence in a clear manner. The process for attendance support within SPPS consists of three stages, becoming increasingly serious if a student continues to miss school. After a student accumulates three unexcused absences, an alert letter regarding attendance is sent home to the parents. Should the student incur further absences without a valid excuse, the school will initiate the intervention procedure, emphasizing the importance of consistent attendance and the collaborative effort to support every student's educational journey.
