Description

Bot Butcher is an API created to assist developers in mitigating spam from contact forms on websites by leveraging artificial intelligence to classify incoming messages automatically. When a user or a bot submits a message through the contact form of a website, the Bot Butcher API can receive the message along with relevant contextual data, including the domain name. Utilizing a specially trained large language model, it examines the content to discern if the message is spam or genuine, considering the specific subject matter of the website. After processing, the API provides a JSON response that indicates the classification outcome, enabling developers to effectively block spam while allowing valid messages to be forwarded to the appropriate recipient or customer relationship management (CRM) system. This process significantly enhances a website's ability to manage unwanted bot traffic before it clutters inboxes, which in turn greatly minimizes the spam burden on site owners. Furthermore, by automating this classification, Bot Butcher saves developers valuable time and resources, allowing them to focus on enhancing their website’s user experience.

Description

The Spamhaus Project is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to monitoring spam and various cyber threats including phishing, malware, and botnets, offering real-time actionable intelligence that is both precise and valuable to major networks, businesses, and security providers on the Internet, while collaborating with law enforcement to identify and take action against sources of spam and malware globally. Established in London in 1998, Spamhaus now operates from Andorra la Vella, Andorra, supported by a committed team of 38 investigators, forensic experts, and network engineers across ten different countries. Currently, Spamhaus’s real-time threat and reputation blocklists safeguard more than 3 billion user mailboxes and play a crucial role in preventing the majority of spam and malware circulating online. The data generated by Spamhaus is utilized by a wide array of entities including most ISPs, email providers, corporations, educational institutions, governmental bodies, and military networks, highlighting its importance in maintaining online security and integrity. Its continued efforts are essential in the ongoing battle against evolving cyber threats.
