DroidAR serves as a versatile framework designed for Augmented Reality applications on Android devices. It supports both marker-based and location-based augmented reality experiences, catering to a variety of use cases. The framework is available for free download under the GNU GPL v3 license from our GitHub repository, with a commercial licensing option also provided. Since its prototype inception as an augmented reality development tool in 2010, DroidAR has undergone continuous enhancements and feature additions. This software development kit (SDK) allows developers to seamlessly integrate augmented reality functionalities into their own applications. We offer the SDK at no cost for non-commercial projects under an Open Source License. Over the years, it has grown to become one of the most popular open-source augmented reality SDKs tailored for the Android ecosystem, reflecting its widespread adoption in the developer community.
