Journal TheCabal's Journal: Trollery 2

While I'm actually not shocked, I am rather dismayed that almost every time I mention Windows in a somewhat favorable context, there is at least one people who starts screaming right away that I'm some sort of troll. It's obvious that GroupThink(tm) has completely taken over some peoples' thought processes, and they have absolutely no experience in real-world enterprise computing. Hopefully they will grow up before they get fired and become a burden on the welfare system.

  • I work with various flavors of *nix and Windows. Most enterprises are diverse environments, with their OS choices according to their pros and cons.

Slashdot is full of Mac and Linux evangelists, who probably think people like me need to be "saved" before we go to hell for our sins.

    Guys - they're just 1's and 0's.
  • Conversely, you tend to troll anyone making a constructive and/or valid criticism of windows. Knee jerk reactions do not make for valid rebuttals.

Having said that, I fully agree with you that the anti microsoft movement at /. is over the top. One cannot have a constructive discussion about anything microsoft related without it de-evolving into some "OMG M$ IS EVIL" bullshit rant, or some pseudo intellectual troll throwing out his or her misconceptions about how windows operates.

    Its a shame really.

The hardest part of climbing the ladder of success is getting through the crowd at the bottom.
