Journal ramdac's Journal: meep 4

bored.  Nothing to say.  I play all day.
I'm waiting for May.  What would you say?  We could go roll in the hay.  I just may.

.....Everything is meaningless..everything.  Nothing has meaning or worth.  .... the basics, let's get back to those.

Let's rewrite culture.

  • Hey, sometimes I am depressed too! View it like work: everything has its ups and downs.. Try to do something that's not boring for a little while. You get what you give. A few small things can already cheer your day up: a thanks-note, the smile of a child, hearing someone whistle in the morning..
Well, I am not a poet, but have a nice day anyway. :)
    • Hey, thanks for the encouragement. How did you happen upon my teeny little entry?

I agree, the smile of a child, hearing someone whistle, and other genuine acts of happiness, in and of themselves, have definite and worthwhile meaning. The particulars to which I was referring is all the nonsense we've learned as a society and culture (who's culture?...for later..).

      It's like Solomon said:
"Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless." "I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind."

Ecclesiastes 2:1: I thought in my heart, "Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good." But that also proved to be meaningless.
Ecclesiastes 2:11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.

I've come to a point where I sit and think about his perception of the world. Not of life itself, but of how this world has taken ownership of the word "life" and changed it to mean how much one has done, accomplished, or experienced.

I tell you the truth; There is much in this world that is utterly useless. Fame, Power, Money, ...

The only things that matter are those things which truly bring happiness to others:
      • A smile of a child(TM)
      • The sound of a baby laughing
      • the purrr of a kitten
      • A rainbow
      • .....
      • Discovering journals isn't very hard using some undocumented links [slashdot.org].. :)
I don't like those bible quotes very much. (To be honest, I didn't know the term Ecclesiastes, since English isn't my native language. Google just told me I'm a bad catholic. So be it.) Those quotes indeed give me the feeling of miserable emptiness. What good can be in any achievement if it hasn't been made with all one's heart? I cannot ever say what I was born for, but I hope to help people with everything I do. I often fail. But that's no reason to search a corner and hope to be forgotten. Sometimes these small things come along that make me happy again..
Example, though I despise TV and you might not even like it: the movie 'Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain' lifted me high out of sadness a few weeks ago :)
One last thing: money, fame or power won't always bring you happiness. But they bring responsibility. How to cope with them, is just up to you.
        • You're definitely right. I can't seem to find happiness in anything of this world. Happiness is only found through fully giving myself to something/someone. Through that, I am able to feel happy knowing that something was done to the benefit of someone else.

These are the gems in my life. I cherish them.

I can't say that I've seen that French movie. I took french in high school but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to understand ti today.

Those bible quotes weren't meant to inspire happiness. They were wrote by a man at a period in his life when he was at his lowest. His most passionate and terrible works come from this period. ...There's nothing with passion :P

Anyway...off I go. How's about some more undocumented links?

Today is a good day for information-gathering. Read someone else's mail file.

Working...
